My time at KSES was so fulfilling and educational. I learnt so much during my time here and truly felt included within the program and the local community. Everyone was super supportive, the hours were as expected and there was time to rest and relax as well as work. Everything was clearly communicated and I knew if I ever had an issue, though there were none, I could discuss it freely. The team is so warm and welcoming and my homestay was comfortable and safe. Overall it was a great experience, definitely recommend going :)

This was an experience of a lifetime, getting to see the truly ethical ways that the shelter has done with the local Karen people to show the elephants was immensely important and great.

Thank you so much, Iker, for your kind words. Creating an experience that respects both the elephants and the people who have lived alongside them for generations is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to welcome you back to KSES one day!

The shelter was amazing! The village and home stays are quite rustic, but they made sure we had everything we needed and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming! It was amazing to see the elephants, and the work they are doing is so important for both the elephants in the program and elephants in captivity across Thailand. It was also nice to know that the experience directly contributed to the local community. The hikes were full of beautiful views, as well! I absolutely loved this experience and recommend it to anyone interested in conservation and culture

I just had the most amazing experience living in a village with a wonderful family, working with travelers from all over the world, and spending time with majestic elephants in their natural habitat! I cannot praise this program enough for their commitment to the elephants and the village. We were totally immersed into the culture. The Karen People are so welcoming and their food is amazing. We learned so mich about elephants and their struggles. I want everyone to know that I am so grateful for this opportunity. My only regret is that I only stayed 1 week. I will be returning and cannot wait!
