My time at the guest house was amazing! There was a welcoming cohort of both volunteers and staff. Group hikes, games night and pub trivia were a big highlight for me. I had never done hospitality work before but training was fully provided and Dunja gave me space and time to learn. The hours are fair/respected and the atmosphere makes time fly! A consistent volunteer schedule means that the facility's like the bathroom and kitchenette are clean. Future volunteers should note that the rooms are dorm style and may not suit light sleepers. The coos and the scones were fabulous to stay with overall!

I had such a lovely experience at the guest house! Paul, Isla, and Dunja were the best and made me feel so welcome. The surrounding area was so gorgeous and fun to explore. My highlight of the experience was working with the coos (naturally) and working in the kitchen was also tons of fun. The volunteer space is homey and I really enjoyed eating dinners together as a big group. It was so easy to make friends and I would recommend this to everyone!Especially those who love Highland Cows!!

This is the 5th exchange I have done & I can safely say it's been the best one yet! The team are fantastic. Dunja was an incredible manager- so professional yet super approachable & friendly. I loved working with Paul & the other packers in the kitchen, everyone was great & it felt like a little family. It can be busy at times but the work is very easy to learn. There's also great things to do in the area by walking/bus. Packers take turns to cook for everyone at dinner, other meals can be carb heavy. There is also a little dog who is around & about the house. Very clean bathroom facilities.

Paul and isla are the best hosts!! I had an amazing time at the guest house and I got to make friends for life 🫶🏻 Dunja is also an amazing, sweet and comprehensive manager! I stayed here for a month and a half, I learned a lot about reception, waitering and also cooking in the kitchen. The only thing I would mention is that protein is low on the world packers diet. There are a lot of volunteers so you'll have people around you all of the time. I will definitely will be coming back 🥹 Loved this place. The cows are absolutely adorable!!!

Isla and Paul were the best! It was such a lovely experience and the perfect way to end my time abroad. They made me feel so welcome from the beginning, and everyone I met there was so nice. It was amazing to be surrounded by such lovely people, share everyday moments and make so many beautiful memories together. The little family we built during my stay is something I'll treasure forever, and I'll always look back on this experience with so much love. It's one of those places that makes you feel at home even when you're far away from your own. I'm sure I'll be back someday! ❤️
