An incredible experience in the Bridge Inn pub with a really kind staff. Newport is near to a lot of grand places, Westport, Achill Island, Ballycroy National Park, etc. The locals are lovely. Recommended at 100%.

I had an amazing experience during my volunteering. The staff and the volunteers I met were very kind and friendly.I loved doing this experience and I recommend this place to everyone.Newport is a small city, sometimes boring, but there are Westport and Castlebar that are very close.

A beautiful, quiet place with very kind people. If you like nature, walking, spending time with yourself, if you have a service attitude, you will love it. The exchange is fair, you will be able to learn from everything and you will improve your English, if that is your case.

I was going to stay for 30 days, but something unexpected happened to my family and I stayed for 1 week. Seamus was very receptive and everyone who works at the Hotel/bar. I had great days with the whole team, especially the cooks and the other volunteers. What they promise, they deliver. It was great to experience those days.

At first, I decided to go volunteering because I needed to work abroad for college. But I really enjoyed this 2-months experience, the staff is VERY lovely and willing to help you having the best stay possible. Volunteering in Ireland is also a good way to improve your english, however the accent can sometimes be rough to understand, so come prepared 😊 Again thank you for everything, I really enjoyed my stay here !

I spent a month here, in October, which is a fairly quiet time. I got along very well with the other volunteers and the staff. The city of Newport is small but well served by bus and is surrounded by nature. I recommend it.

I had a great experience overall and truly enjoyed the people I worked with. I ended up working solely in the Pub which was great but somewhat overwhelming at times. There isn't any training provided but if you've worked in a restaurant before you'll be fine! I was truly grateful for the community that I got to know and was able to enjoy the beauty of the West Coast of Ireland during my stay.

My experience at the guest house was overall good! The staff was lovely, food and accommodation were good and as described. The only issue I had with my stay would be that schedules get switched around at the last minute and was often asked to stay around at the guest house to check in guests even if I had already done my hours for the day. However, if you communicate with Geraldine she's really amazing at working around your desired schedule or giving you the hours off a different day if you worked extra, so be firm on your boundaries and communicate! Newport is a cute down, decently connected by bus.

The room was cozy and had the minimals needed. Only room issue was the slamming doors from kitchen and b&b heard constantly. The work is hard on the body and you have to move at a quick pace but you get use to it. Only feedback is management, could be more organized with scheduling and verifying everything is in stock for restaurant and rooms at the time it's needed. And do not ask/assume packers want to work overtime as most of us are doing this to travel and see Ireland. The town is absolutely adorable and beautiful! Take advantage of visitor center and bus schedule. Hiking, walking, etc

The town was very pretty and the room was nice however there was very little training and you were expecting know what to do. Communication on when you were working often lacked sometime you knew a week before other time it was either a few hours before or almost no notice.
