Activities & Shift
What We Expect from You (4–5 hours a day, 5 days a week)
⚬ English Conversation: Help us polish our rusty English (patience required!).
⚬ Light Maintenance: Assist with basic DIY tasks around the house, such as sanding, filling, and painting walls.
⚬ Housework & Errands: Help with general household tasks and pop to the supermarket with us twice a week. (Note: You won't need to clean our private bathroom or wash our clothes).
⚬ Personal Space: Keep your own bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy. You are welcome to use the house washing machine for your laundry.
⚬ Flexible Schedule: Choose whichever two days off suit you best!
Your Space & Amenities
You will have a private single bedroom (4m × 4m) fitted with a wardrobe, desk, and chair, plus your own private bathroom with a shower.
We provide everything you need for a comfortable stay:
⚬ Essentials: Bedding, blankets, towels, slippers, hairdryer, and toiletries.
⚬ Comforts: All meals and drinks, high-speed Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.
Rules
House Rules & Expectations
Please note that smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere in the house.
You are completely free to enjoy your spare time as you wish. We simply ask that you respect four ground rules:
1. Stay Reachable: Be available and easy to contact via message or call when needed.
2. Keep Us Updated: Let us know when you plan to leave and return. If you need a lift, we are happy to drop you off or pick you up depending on our schedule and location!
3. Guests First: Always ask us before inviting anyone over to the house.
4. Profile Check: To show you have read our entire profile, please include the word "carota" in your application message.
Key Adjustments Made:
⚬ "On call" → "Reachable / easy to contact": In British English, "on call" sounds like a 24/7 medical or emergency work duty, which might scare volunteers away. "Stay reachable" sounds much friendlier.
⚬ "Timetables" → "Keep Us Updated": Replaced the rigid header with natural phrasing for letting hosts know your whereabouts.
⚬ Grammar & Flow: Cleaned up the initial sentence count conflict (changed "three rules" to "four ground rules").
