We were warmly welcomed by Matheus and Adri! Ferrugem itself is beautiful and the hostel couldn't be better located. However: the hostel is more of a guesthouse with people living there long-term; the volunteers' room is OK but it was full of cockroaches, as was the bathroom; the place depends entirely on the volunteers. The work itself wasn't very hard, nor was it a lot of work, but since I was traveling with a friend, we never ended up on the same shifts. We had to leave earlier for personal reasons, and Adri was very kind and understanding. We enjoyed the experience, but there are points to improve.

Even though I was asked if I could help with a housekeeping task in addition to my volunteer work as a content creator, I didn’t think that my volunteering would be summarized to just cleaning. Matheus wasn't here this week, so unfortunately there were no surf lessons. Apart from that, it was very cool, a very beautiful place and well located

It was a wonderful experience full of learning, surrounded by nature, outdoor activities, fellow travelers and very lovely locals who made everything even more special. The hostel is exactly as it looks in the photos, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The owners are very accommodating, which is greatly appreciated. As a small detail, sometimes the functioning of some things may fail. I leave deeply grateful for all I lived and shared, and I hope to return someday✨

I loved my season in Ferrugem. It's a place with a lot of nature, good vibes, and a unique lifestyle. The volunteer tasks are super easy, and there's also the possibility for you to contribute with any talent you have. The sense of community and partnership I found here made the experience more special. I was able to get to know the region well, I did yoga, hiking, sandboarding, I rode a longboard, I went to parties and events, I played with the pets… It was a lot of fun! Matheus and Adri, the hosts, are amazing people, I felt very welcomed by them. I will miss it a lot. Thank you!

My experience was very good; they kept to what was agreed ❤️ the hostel is quiet, Ferrugem too. They have markets nearby, a beach 200m away, and the buses to the city are free. The facilities are good, it's nice and comfortable and they have a room for volunteers.
The host and his family are very nice, always with energy and good vibes. A very nice place to go to connect with nature, the sea, to surf, to go to the dunes, and to learn how to skateboard.

A Ferrugem is an amazing place where I connected with nature and lived an immersive experience in local life, the hosts were welcoming and respected the tasks and schedules agreed, I participated in activities such as trekking and yoga organized by the hostel and I met wonderful people. I recommend the experience, it was awesome!
