My two weeks with Richard was an experience that I will remember for the remainder of my lifetime. Richard does an excellent job at making you feel like family, while also ensuring you are having fun during the time that you are volunteering. This experience would be perfect for someone who doesn’t mind early mornings & days full of delicious breakfasts, lunches & fun surf. The actual work is very simple & straightforward. And the best part of all is that you will gain a forever friend & family with Richard & his fur children hahaha. Thank you Richard for welcoming me into your home & life ♥️

Richard is such an amazing host! I only spent 2 weeks with him, but it was such an awesome and fun experience. I had never surfed before and he spent so much time and effort teaching me how to surf, and was a great guide around Lima. I felt very safe and protected as a young woman traveling alone. His rescue animals (Olita and Biscito) are so so sweet and clearly love and trust him very much. The lifestyle requires some flexibility, and you should be able to cook in a small space and get up early, but if you are excited about surfing, and hanging out on the beach, this a perfect position!

I had a great time with Richard. It was nice to have a local's guide and input. Most importantly, not a creep! The days basically go as listed: Wake up at 5 am Pack for the beach Leave by 5:30 to the beach Cook breakfast & coffee Hang out with sassy Olita (I used this time to work on my thesis) Help as needed Learn some surfing techniques/surf- very good surf teache Make lunch Either leave since time requirement is only until lunch, or hang out till he leaves Go home and do the days dishes That's basically it. You have a lot of free time to hang out and explore. Happy to answer any questions!

My time with Richard was incredible, he commited to making my time as fun and relaxed as possible and he cared for me so much, I've made a great new friend. It didn't even feel like work, just cooking breakfast and lunch and then chilling at the beach and surfing. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind early starts as you do have to get up at 5 but it's so worth it.
