It was my first time volunteering at a hostel, and how lucky am I that it was an unreal experience! Everything was smooth, from contacting the host to arriving on my first day. I lived with three other volunteers in a separate house next to the hostel, which was perfect for some quiet space. The work was chill and honestly didn't feel like work. The guests were so kind and I met lots of cool people I'll definitely stay in touch with! The other volunteers and staff were great too. If you're thinking about volunteering at Cuckoos Nest, DO IT!!! Cheers!

I had a great time at the cuckoos the hostel! The owner Ben was on holiday during my stay, but he had an exceptional manager looking after us whilst he was. Jason was respectful, caring and overall a brilliant manager. I felt like my experience was that good because of the people I was working with. the hostel isn't too big, and allows it to feel like a family very quickly with the workers and the guests. My social battery did run out though! Definitely think 2 days off would allow people to recharge. I also think the cleaners should come more than once a week, with a more of a thorough clean.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel, it became like a home to me. It was so nice to slow down my travels and living in a house with the other volunteers was definitely a massive highlight for me. Jason was an amazing manager for the team and i felt i could always go to him and be guided by him. I knew the expectations of me, and my role in the team and thought the work was very manageable and easy. You're mostly expected to mingle with the guests and make/serve drinks behind the hostel, in which you are trained on how to do. i would definitely recommend this experience! Thankyou Ben!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my month volunteering at the hostel. It was my first Worldpackers experience and my first time working in a the hostel, so I learned lots of new skills, including making cocktails. the hostel has a fun, welcoming and social atmosphere, with plenty of activities to keep things busy. Ben was a great boss—fair, approachable and appreciative of the effort you put in. I enjoyed it so much that I've decided to stay for a few more months. The volunteer house is right next to the hostel, and I've met some great people and made lasting friendships. I'd definitely recommend it!

Had a great time here. Nice facilities, nice pool and Hoi An is a great city to spend some extra time in, very charming and tons to do. As for the actual work I really liked it although I could see it being tiring for more introverted people. Ben is very nice even if he likes a bit of bantering and a great teacher. All the other volunteers I've worked with have been great. Very nice close knit group and no really lazy ones who let others pick up the slack. Nice atmosphere at the hostel, never had problem finding guests to do stuff with outside of work. Hostel staff are lovely as well

This was my first ever worldpackers experience and I don't think it could've been any better. The house the volunteers get to stay in has extremely comfortable beds and provides a great area to be able to relax during the day and hangout with other volunteers. The receptionists are the kindest people you will ever meet and Ben is super cool (if ur seeing this tho I don't mean it). He has truly created a home away from home and such a lovely, family-like environment where everyone feels included. The staff at the hostel we go to every night r so incredible as well! Highly recommend!!

I had a great time at The Cuckoos the hostel - Ben is an excellent host and boss, he respects the scheduled hours, communicates his expectations clearly and effectively, and provides a nice space for the volunteers to live in. I loved my fellow volunteers, and enjoyed the work (mostly bartending and helping run events at the hostel each night.) Guests staying here tend to be social, good vibes, ready to have fun :)

I had the absolute best time at cuckoos the hostel. I became so close with all the volunteers and the owner, ben, is amazing! The staff house is such a nice addition as you have your own space away from the hostel to reset your social battery! the hostel is also super nice & has a pool. In terms of working, all of the events are fun and the work is easy! You also become so close with all the workers at the hostel Ynot and get free drinks, balloons, & bahn mi there which saves so much $$! I 10/10 recommend applying to the hostel as I already can't wait to be back again someday🫶🏼 thankful for the memories
