I stayed in HDLF school for 3 weeks and I had a great time! The language barrier can be a bit difficult with the kids at first but then you find your own ways to communicate with them and staying with local teachers always helps. It’s great to eat and sleep with them because there are many things to ask both about Cambodia and Spain or other countries where other volunteers are from. I am very grateful that they receive foreign people as a family and I’m happy to see that they educate the kids in terms of life and values besides teaching English😊

HDLF project is BEAUTIFUL! Children and teenagers from rural areas have an opportunity by studying English there. International volunteers are very important for local people to be in touch with others cultures and to be more confident talking to them. My experience at HDLF was AMAZING. I loved so much to teach kids and teenagers and to live with a local family and local volunteers, I was able to really live their culture. Just keep in mind that it is a very rural place, you'll live in simple conditions. I am very happy and grateful that I could be a part of this and to have this experience!!!

My experience in HDLF was incredible. I had the greatest time teaching the kids, who are so funny and joyful, and living with the wonderful teachers Nith, Sophy, Sopheus, Phearun and Mankind. Having meals together, getting to know each other more, joking around and talking about everything made it feel they were my family. Juan and Hannah are also awesome people, and I really like the project they are carrying out. So inspiring! I also loved the place, as its very rural. Getting to know the locals, their traditions and lifestyle I believe its the best way to get involved in other cultures.

I can't even think to any adjective to qualify this incredible human experience. I had an awesome, memorable time with HDLF "family ".
It was my first time as volunteer and I have zero regrets by choosing HDLF, for the future volunteers you will realise it as soon as you will have chance to meet the amazing human being Juan and lovely gf .Thea and his family, his parents are just ones most humble, helpful, joyful... persons I've met they welcomed me as a family member and any other volunteers. Teaching experience was a bit challenging first days, but local teachers are there to help u

We are a grassroots education organisation founded three years ago by a Cambodian teacher with many years of experience working in education. We have two schools which are run with the help of his family and other local volunteers. The main school is located in a rural village, 35km from Battambang and our second school is 5km up the road. In 2019 we will start building a third school so we will be very busy next year! After studying and tr...
