Sarah, Amy and Daniel were all lovely and welcoming so I felt at home right away! The property is wonderful and not too far from Hay-on-Wye for it to be inconvenient, and you're granted plenty of freedom to head to town most days. The work is fun and very manageable if you can stay on top of all the tasks you're given, so I'd recommend Brynmelyn to anyone and everyone!

Brynmelyn was such a cool place to volunteer, I loved working with Sarah, Amy and all of the other volunteers. Sarah was very accommodating, there was a moment when I was supposed to be leaving but unexpectedly had to return and stay for an extra week, and Sarah immediately welcomed me back. Also thank you to Amy who was so enthusiastic with helping me assemble my banjo :)

I would recommend volunteering at Brynmelyn to those who don't mind putting in a little bit of hard work and like to work / live in a tight knit group. I would absolutely volunteer here again if given the chance!

Volunteering for Sarah was an amazing experience, the old house has many projects underway like weeding, decorating, and basic construction, it's hard work but very fulfilling and welcoming. Sarah is very good at communicating when you need to speak to her and she makes sure everything is ok while still being fair to herself and the volunteers. When unexpected weather impacted our water supply she was quick to make a plan and make it as easy as possible to deal with the changes and keep us updated on progress. I can't wait till I can hopefully come back and volunteer again!

This was an amazing experience! It takes a team to get things done and Sarah and Amy run things very smoothly. At this position you will learn the value of hard work but also have plenty of time to have fun with other volunteers and in town. It is the perfect experience if you want something more secluded, I miss it already!

Sarah was amazing from the get-go! Very communicative and eager to make sure I was always enjoying myself with the daily tasks. There is a ton of freedom and aside from the simple volunteering work the rest of the time is yours to explore the local area or relax in the gorgeous estate. With this being my first Worldpackers experience I could not be more pleased with my stay. I heavily recommend this for anyone wishing to experience a beautiful town and meet exciting people from all over the world :)

This was my first worldpackers experience, and I had a great 3 weeks here! all of the work was very doable, and it felt very rewarding at the end of each day. The hosts were super nice and communicated really well, and all information was clear. The accommodation was also nice and I loved my room, I already want to come back lol. I definitely felt connected with nature after staying here, and overall, I definitely recommend volunteering here!!!

Sarah was an excellent host, full of energy! She accommodated my vegan lifestyle perfectly, and the food she prepared for us was delicious. We had a lovely room and access to several bathrooms. I really enjoyed working on the grounds and exploring all the surrounding nature. The house is in a beautiful location and very close to town. I highly recommend visiting the Treehouse Cafe, which is a short walk from the house and offers a gorgeous view of the River Wye. Thank you so much, Sarah, for such a wonderful and welcoming experience!

I had a wonderful experience staying in a beautiful large house with a lovely the home. The place itself is peaceful and full of charm, which made the experience even more special. Dan and Sarah welcomed me very warmly from the very beginning and made me feel comfortable and at home. They were always kind, friendly, and easy to talk to. Thank you both for the great hospitality, and for making this stay such a positive and memorable experience. I'm truly grateful!

Had a lovely stay with Sarah. She and her team were so welcoming and helpful. The rooms and house were stunning, and we got to work out in her beautiful yard. The schedule was good and the dinner even better!
