We had been spending 1 month in Sahirin place and it was wonderful. We live in middle of nature close to Rinjani mountain, spending most of our time with local people : Sahirin family (sisters and dad), friends to discuss with and kids always happy to meet you.
Our classes was amazing teaching English to kids for their education and adults to improve their skills to become local tourist guides. Our language exchange was fulfil with daily Indonesian and Sasak from locals but also FR, SP and DE from Sahirin.
Always ready to make us feel great, we visited many places : beaches, waterfalls…

Volunteering here and teaching English was a really great experience. I really enjoyed helping the kids and seeing them get more confident with their English and also teaching his sister at night. It was also great getting to learn about the local culture while I was there. Sahirin was a great host and made everything easy and welcoming.
His family are also amazing and they always want to speak with you.
We visited a nearby waterfall which was beautiful and tried all sorts of new foods, as well as camping at a beach!
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about volunteering here.

My experience was truly amazing. From the start, they make you feel like you're a part of the family. They treat you like one of your own with respect and kindness. I got to try lots of yummy new local meals. When my partner got sick, they showed so much care and ensured he was eating and resting. The kids are always eager to learn and they have such funny personalities. You'll make a lot of special memories, everyone is welcome here. Definitely would recommend 1000000/10 THANK YOUUU!!!!

Volunteering here is such a special experience. From the very first moment you are welcomed and made to feel very comfortable. The sisters, especially pika and Nurmisah, made sure I was never hungry, always telling me ‘until full sister’ at every meal! In the afternoon I would teach children, who were so lovely and fun it made it a pleasure to teach them. The mornings were flexible, you can farm, babysit or Sahirin will take you to do and see incredible things! What Sahirin and family have is very special, so thank you for letting me experience it, I loved it and would really recommend it!

Staying with Sahirin and his family has been a really unique and authentic experience. I was welcomed since the first day as a part of the family. His 5 sisters, specially Pika and Nurmisha treated me like their own sister every day. Also teaching the kids and playing volleyball with them was really fun! Sahirin was a wonderful and motivated Spanish student! And he is a very fast learner. He was also showing me everything of their routine and teaching me Bahasa Indonesia! I really recommend this experience to everyone that wants to really meet local culture and be in touch with nature! ❤️

Sahirin and his family are so welcoming and lovely. The room is nice and it was really cool to try the all the local food. They really make you feel at home. The children are very eager to learn and pick up English quickly. It's a beautiful place near rinjani and the beach. Lots of time off to relax. They explain their culture to you and Sahirin took me to lots of pretty spots around his area. Please note it is very expensive to get to/from his house (around $140 )

Is a very beautiful community, I had the opportunity to be more with the locals, all the locals are so lovely they even want to take photos with you all the time haha! Also Sahirin was such an amazing tour guide! He showed me lots of beautiful places where locals go! The class was amazing and the students were lovely trying to learn more English! Throughout my stay, I volunteered as an English teacher, working closely with local children while also learning the local language. Teaching became more than a task, it was a meaningful exchange where I learned just as much as I shared. Through this program, I gained a deeper understanding of education at the grassroots level.
Sahirin and his family welcomed me wholeheartedly, allowing me to take part in their daily routines from morning until night. They prepared authentic home-cooked meals and opened their home with genuine warmth. Two weeks felt far too short!

This is an amazing experience and a must do if you are looking for an authentic local experience. You are instantly welcomed in by the whole family, who treated me so well. I really felt like I was making a difference through the English teaching, all the kids are so grateful and enthusiastic about the lessons and they make it so worth it.
I got to try a large variety of local foods, met lots of local people and got to visit lots of local attractions too.
