The hours were super easy and respected (either consisting of creating art/signs for the hostel, working reception and general tasks around the hostel or creating posts for their social media). The small, quiet town of El Gigante was the perfect place to relax!! Gracias Hernan and everyone we met during our stay, we had a blast!! ☺️

Gracias, the hostel! 🦎 Volunteering here was such a great experience. The owner is very flexible, always ready to help and full of tips on what's worth seeing nearby. The tasks were easy and the schedule left plenty of time for surfing and exploring. It's a tiny beach town, so you quickly get to know the locals and the area. There's always something fun for volunteers: burger and pizza nights, karaoke, trivia and more. The other volunteers welcomed me warmly from day one. the hostel by name, the hostel by nature. Highly recommend😆

Such a great first volunteer experience for me! Hernán made a lovely effort to make me feel comfortable in the hostel garobo from the beginning. Communication with him the guests and other volunteers in the hostel was always smooth. The amenities, ability to use surfboards and the location were perfect. Gigante has a nice social vibe with guests, volunteers and locals in the town. If you are looking for somewhere very the hostel in Nicaragua to spend some time and absorb the good vibes this is the place to be! Muchas gracias

I really recommend this amazing places to stay and do volunteer, Hernan and Emma are perfect managers, work at hostel it’s easy and also you have 2 beaches near, and surf boards for volunteers, place is very chill and the community of friends that you will make around with a lot activities every night, can you walk or use motorbikes; I only have to be grateful for this amazing days there 🙌🏻✨🌊🏄🏻♂️🏝️

El Gigante is such a magical place! It is very small and very laid back. Everyone feels like family and there is a great sense of community and great surfing. The work was easy and hours more than fair. The accommodation is good however it was very unclean when I arrived. Specially the bathroom which had mold and a horrible mildew smell.

My time at the hostel was amazing - the hours were more than fair and the team was incredibly nice! El Gigante is the definition of slow living, so if your rather looking for the party vibe it might not be the best place for you. But if you're looking for a the hostel place to work, amazing waves and free surfboards, I'd highly reccomend volunteering there :))

Loved my two weeks at the hostel!! playa gigante is such a truly special place, and i'm so sad to leave it. the work is very the hostel, just reception and some cleaning. the volunteer manager, ema, is amazing and does so so much for the volunteers. i had such a great time and i hope to come back soon ❤️❤️

I had a great time at Chill Garrobo! The tasks were easy and the location of the hostel was great. 1 minute away from the beach and directly next to the store. Hernan and Dan made me feel welcomed from the beginning. The other volunteers were also supernice so it felt like having a family here. We spent the evenings playing games together and chilled at the beach and surfed during the day. I'm very sad to leave, it was so much fun with you guys! I would definitely recommend this volunteering

A great volunteer experience with the best hosts! Dan and Hernan are friendly, welcoming, helpful and treat you like family. The accommodation is right in the center of town and super relaxing and laid back. There are always other volunteers and many days and nights are spent together, with the hosts too. From family dinners involving the guests too, to checking out the other events in town, or other random adventures, this place is perfect for chilling and seeing a real Nicaraguan surf town. I highly recommend!

I had a very funny stay at the hostel. Dan was really welcoming and has always ideas to organize games night. Also the place is very the hostel, there is not a lot going on there, but we were hanging out with all the others volunteers. I will definitely recommend, thanks guys !
