Program Details

We hope that the volunteer joining La Rueda is eager to share, to learn from others, and to teach what they have to contribute. We value someone who is proactive and self-directed to carry out the tasks. We prioritize respect and appreciation, recognizing that we are all on the same search for purpose and happiness.

Activities & Shift

Within the daily routine there are activities that have a defined schedule and others that are at the volunteers' discretion. Here is a bit more about the basic work of volunteers:

With specific schedules:
8:00 a.m. take the horses out to graze
6:00 p.m. return them to their corral, fill the water troughs, and feed the dogs

During the day:
Water the plants in the summer months
Collect the waste of horses and dogs
Clean the gallery (wash the floor and windows)
Continue with project activities that we are carrying out that week, such as maintenance activities for the specific maintenance posts, or repair furniture, decorate spaces, etc.

Rules

At La Rueda we like to welcome volunteers who have a good predisposition, a willingness to share, and who are proactive. We believe that mutual respect is the most important thing to keep relationships positive and constructive for everyone. Cleanliness and order are also important, so we place a lot of emphasis on that topic.
