I've been living in this community for four months as a lead volunteer and it's been one of the best experience of my life. The community Is full of wonderful, welcoming and caring people, all sharing in the life of the hostel and helping everyone fit in. I've been enjoying the magical winter, where i got to immerse in the amazing snowy nature, skiing around and ice skating on beautiful lakes, after which i got back to a cozy house exclusively for the volunteers, which me and the others took care of and truly made our home.
This Is truly a nourishing experience and i can't wait to go back.

My stay in the Center was absolutely wonderful. I had the chance to discover winter in Sweden in this charming place, where I made friends and met incredibly kind and welcoming people. Everyone does their best to make sure you feel comfortable, respected, and at home. I was able to experience unique moments: ice skating on a frozen lake and cross-country skiing in the middle of the forest. It's a very immersive experience where you also take part in the life of the place and help make it even better. ❄️⛸️🌲

This was my first volunteering experience and I loved it. The task were super easy and we had plenty of time to get outside or be creative. I had so many new experiences and learnt so much. Everyone here are all so welcoming and lovely. I had a great time and met some cool as people. I really recommend this place to anyone 😽😽😽

Fridem was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful home away from home. The place we stayed was amazing its this super cozy house with everything you could need. I also really enjoyed the nature there which was super beautiful and peaceful. We were there in winter and I would say there is plenty to do there. The work was super laid back and was on your own time which I relly enjoyed, I felt free to do what I wanted. Overall I would say that it was an amazing experience!!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Fridem for 3 weeks and we had the best time ever. It's a beautiful community where everybody helps each and another and people genuinely care about each other. The work is easy and you have a lot of independence of when to do what tasks. There were a bunch of different task (like housekeeping, cleaning, Handy work, painting and much more), we could choose from, depending on what's more urgent and what we enjoy doing the most.
I would really recommend volunteering for Fridem !!

I spent around a week at the Center. It was an amazing experience - my first volunteer opportunity through worldpackers and i couldn't have asked for a better way to start. Kelsey was really helpful - she shared all details before the start to help me and also arranged for the pickup from Hedemora. The works was very relaxed - and you had s lot of time for yourself to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Also there are some optional activities every day - which if you're interested in you can participate for free. Overall - I really enjoyed my time and I hope to visit again in the summer.

The Center has been such an amazing experience. Stjärnsund is such a peaceful little village and the community is so welcoming and kind. It has been great getting to know the locals and other volunteers. There is lots of flexibility with the work and you can do what inspires you most + learn a lot, there is always something new to do. Kelsey has been an amazing host with great communication & is always there to listen or help with anything. 💗 The nature and landscapes around the Center are also breathtaking, both in the warmer and colder months. I would recommend this stay to everyone!

Isabel and Sheridan landed into the volunteer house with so much ease, always friendly and happy to help out with all the tasks. They took great care of the garden, easy to talk to. Isabel has some extra skills with technology as well which has been great! They are both just really sweet to have around. Wish them well on their next adventures.

I had such a lovely time at the Center! The surrounding area is gorgeous, incredible walks around the village. I also loved meeting all the local living there, as well as all the other volunteers and travelers. Such a great community! I worked remotely while staying there (good wifi, no problems) and the volunteer hours were as expected (they were super flexible). I'll definitely be coming back at some point and highly recommend this experience!

Nicole managed to balance her work online and connecting with her environment, the other volunteers and finding the time to paint and help out however she could. Nicole is an excellent communicator and it was a pleasure to share watching the northern lights together.

The most magical place I've ever been. The town is quaint and surrounded by beautiful nature. Everyone I interacted with so genuine and kind. Kelsey who works with the volunteers is an angel who made me feel so safe and seen throughout my time. The work was light and great experience, I never felt overwhelmed. Communication was incredible and we always had access to guidance and help. The accommodations were so cozy, I also loved all my fellow volunteers so so much which made my time extraordinary. I'd love to go back and recommend it to travelers looking to be part of a community.
