This place is so magical if you can see the magic in everything surrounding you ✨ Such a peaceful place to reflect, get creative, but also socialise with locals and learn about their cultures ( Malay, Chinese and Indians co- living peacefully and very respectfully towards each other ) AiVee created this awesome business & Chen, Art, Jeremy are the kayaking instructors, super fun to be around them ! If you're planning to come here, I recommend bringing several pairs of loose, breathable long pants and mosquito repellent. I had a wonderful experience here. The place is beautiful, peaceful and really enjoyable to stay at. The work was not too complicated and everything was explained clearly, witch made it easy to feel comfortable and useful from the start. The staff where absolutely amazing, always friendly and great to be around.
At times, you can find yourself a bit alone, but for me that was also part of the charm and gave me some quiet moments to enjoy the surroundings. Overall, this is a fantastic place for anyone looking for a meaningful and pleasant volunteer experience. I would definitely recommend it!

I had an amazing time at the lodge! AiVee, Chen, and Art were amazing and took great care of me. Some days were high intensity, hoping around the local town and then some are very quiet. Just you and the dogs alone at the house. I will say that a lot of the work is self led. You will get instruction and it is on you to take the initiative to start. So if you work well in that sort of environment I think the lodge will be a beneficial experience for you! Work can include cleaning, taking care of the dogs, repair projects on the house, or whatever you're interested in!

The place is a hidden gem: it's peaceful, surrounded with the river, nature and wildlife (can see monkeys and otters very close to the house). Come here if you want to slow down from your travels, good place for quiet downtime and contemplating nature because the workload is light. Main tasks: feed the dogs, water the plants, keep the place clean, clean after the kayak tours (you can also join the kayak tours ).

This opportunity proved more than to just housekeeping and helping. Not only were the mangroves a beautiful sight to wake up too as well as the silly dogs but everything all together felt so peaceful. AiVee and Chen work hard to give the volunteers a rich cultural experience and provide a very generous amount of hospitality with them constantly taking you to the city to show you food, going to the sights around this small town, inviting you into homes of families and locals to learn the real Malaysia, I'm thankful. Fantastic hosts who care about the volunteers well being and there experience.

I stayed at the lodge for 3 weeks and honestly… such a special experience. From day one, it felt more like a home than a “volunteer place.” My daily life there included kayaking with guests through the mangroves (never gets old 😍), helping take care of the house, cleaning, cooking, and looking after the two adorable dogs. The work was fair, well-explained, and balanced — plenty of time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings too.

I highly recommend to host Zuzana. She is knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, love dogs like her own pets. She keep the house clean and cook delicious breakfast for our guests. She have sence of humor, always have great chatting session with her. She is active, joining our kayaking tour and chat with our guests. When I need to go KL for others task, I'm 100% stressfree to have her in the house.

This is an amazing experience for me. I'm so grateful to come here and meet wonderful people like Aivee and Chen. They treated me like a family. They took me to try the most wonderful foods, and meet the nice local people. It's definitely a great immersion into the local culture. The work here is easy and always clearly communicated. It is a good place to escape from city life. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back.

Much recommanded experience. I stayed for 3 weeks and main Tasks were taking care of the House, plants, dogs, cleaning, preparing for the kayak Tours and joining them. As well as some other tasks based on what was needed at the time. Everyone is realy Kind and they will Show you a Lot of different food as well as Share there Knowledge about Malaysia, Mangroves, Culture and much more. Be aware that if AiVee is gone you will be alone at the House for some amount of time. So you should be Fine with beeing on your own. Its the best Place for relaxing and watching Wildlife. So enjoy!

The volunteering was an unforgettable experience! The place is truly unique — a the lodge surrounded by nature. The tasks were simple including cleaning, preparing for the kayak tours and tidying up afterwards. I also had the chance to join most of the tours, which was amazing — I learned so much about the mangroves and their importance to the local ecosystem.
