Hi everyone! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, I'm happy to share more details. the hostel is a large, hostel that runs smoothly and sticks to its schedules and job descriptions. Because of its size, it can feel more like a real job than a typical volunteer experience. You work 4 hours a day, which leaves you plenty of time to explore the hostel. I was on the night shift at the bar and it was an absolute blast, the hostel is a party place. My Spanish was basic and I had no trouble at all. The volunteer community is warm and friendly, I made genuinely great friendships!

Working at the bar was very comfortable thanks to great colleagues and introductions/help provided by Juan, Josue and Adrian. It is a nice hostel to stay in with a great community of volunteers, and very warm and welcoming staff :)

I want to warn female volunteers about an issue I experienced. I had to end my stay early due to how management handled a situation with a male volunteer who made me and another woman uncomfortable. We reported it to management multiple times, together and separately, but nothing was done. A simple room change would have solved it, as we didn't feel comfortable sharing a room with him. I was able to leave early without problems. Aside from this, my stay was great. The facilities were comfortable, shifts were easy, food was okay, and the bar staff was very friendly!

Hi Sophie, thank you for sharing your experience and for the time you spent volunteering with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the team and your overall stay.

Regarding the situation you mentioned, when the concern was brought to us we spoke with the people involved and offered the option of changing rooms to ensure everyone felt comfortable. Creating a respectful and safe environment for our volunteers is very important to us.

We wish you the best in the rest of your travels.

I had a great volunteering experience at this hostel. The staff was welcoming, the vibe was very social, and the location in Miraflores near Kennedy Park felt safe at all hours. The facilities were clean and the room was comfortable. As a vegan, I really appreciated that they adapted the meals for me. I volunteered in the marketing area, filming activities and editing videos for social media. Everything was planned with Rocío, who is in charge of marketing, and the schedule was always fair and flexible. It was a great learning experience and definitely the best of my four volunteerings.

My time at the hostel was wonderful! I felt very comfortable right from the start. The countless hostel activities make it very easy to meet a lot of people. I also really enjoyed working at the bar, even though it was a bit exhausting at times. Thank you very much, Dominique and Alan, for your patience with me and my Spanish and for showing me how to mix the Pisco Sour (and so many other cocktails). In my free time, I got to know the hostel with its beautiful neighbourhoods, relaxed beach promenade and great cuisine, and I tried some surfing. I would recommend volunteering in the hostel to anyone ❤️
