The Experience

In January 2018 we purchased an abandoned villa build in the mid XIX century by a rich emigree and ever since we've been focused in saving this piece of history for posterity. in 2024 we managed to complete the first phase of the project and the fun starts now. 2025 season we'll focus on the south wing. Foundation reinforce, west wall rebuild, roof rebuild and first floor rebuild. I'm confident we can accomplish the first really visible results.

This is everything and more than i could’ve ever hoped for! Suso and Myriam are wonderful people, and the work is unpredictable but you learn so much! It is the perfect environment if you are interested in learning new skills. The house is located near a bus stop where you can get different places, you just gotta be a little organised and curious!
This experience was full of surprises, I would definitely recommend staying a month, it went by so fast !

Suso and Myriam were incredible hosts. They are so helpful, kind and patient. The tasks were fun and the working hours respected. I learned a lot of useful things about building and repairing, gardening and sustainable projects. l cuddled with the dogs and cats, I visited a lot of beautiful places by bike or by bus and I enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Asturias. 100% recommended. The place is ideal if you love being outside and doing outdoor activities, like walking, hiking or cycling. The bus stop is a little far from the house, but going out is still doable, even on weekdays.

Amazing experience at the project! The hosts are great and so were the other volunteers. If you want to live away from the city and in a really beautiful natural environment, eat well, learn the basics of construction, meet people and speak English and Spanish (and more)...definitely apply for this experience, you won't regret it! Things to be prepared for:
Without a car, moving around is a bit complicated and slow but also a fun challenge!
The house is a work in progress and the conditions can be basic but you will easily get used to it.
Thanks Suso and Myriam for the hospitality

I had an amazing experience with Suso, Myriam and the other volunteers. I'd never done any building work before, and Suso was incredibly patient in teaching me. Myriam's cooking is also wonderful. The place is truly beautiful, nestled amongst the mountains. The nearest village is a 35-minute walk away, where there's a bus stop with services to various destinations along Spain's northern coast. I had to leave earlier than planned for personal reasons, and the hosts were very understanding. Thank you for the week we spent together.

I really enjoyed my time at the project and would gladly recommend it to other volunteers. Suso and Myriam are wonderful hosts who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Suso is knowledgeable, patient, and always happy to explain the work, so every day is an opportunity to learn something new. I appreciated the great balance between helping on the house and having time for myself. There was always enough free time to discover the beautiful surroundings or just relax. The combination of meaningful work, amazing food, and the kindness of Suso and Myriam made my stay very memorable.
