I really enjoyed my time at the hostel/Argdivan. The work was chill and working hours were always respected. The hosts own two hostels in La Fortuna, the hostel and Argdivan Hostel. Iworked at Argdivan Hostel, while all volunteers shared a room at the hostel. Personally, I didn't mind this, but it's good to know that you might not work at the hostel you're staying at and you have to go back and forth a lot. It was really wonderful working together with the other volunteers and getting to know the staff in both hostels, special thanks to George and Aron for the fun times working together! 🫶🏻

I am really between 3.5-4 stars, but I would like people to read an honest review. To start off I am so grateful to the workers at Ceiba, they were so kind and welcoming to me. They really helped me adjust and become comfortable at the hostel. The hostel itself is very nice and a vibrant place to be! The only reason for my review is that I feel there was a lot of false advertisement on the listing, especially regarding the meals and free tours. I did not feel the exchange for work was met with equal reciprocity. Overall, I am thankful I tried this experience and for the new friends I made:)

I had a super great time at the hostel!!! the work was as agreed - 6 5 hour shifts which were pretty chill. breakfast was not provided unfortunately, and only basic ingredients were provided to cook lunch. lara and lautaro were very welcoming, as were aron and ronald. what made this experience so great was the amazing volunteer team we had!!! we had so much fun and became so close in such a short time, i loved them all so much. this is a great experience and i would recommend

I had such a great time at the hostel and made so many friends. the job was pretty easy, however it's important to know that breakfast is not included! you get to cook one meal a day with the basic ingredients provided. there is lots to do in la fortuna, but the days can be long sometimes when the hostel is a bit quieter. i had a super awesome experience and am very grateful to lara, lautaro, ronald, and aron!!! i would definitely recommend this experience, however be mindful you definitely need fluent english and beginner spanish, or vice versa!! it's super fun and i loved it

I had such a good time in the hostel! Laura and Lautaro are super nice hosts. But the people that made me feel like at home were the workers (Ronald, David y Aron and my special Marimar) and all the other volunteers. You work as said - 6 days per week, 5 hours shifts. The schedule for the next week is given to you on Sunday, so you can plan your week accordingly. Upon your arrival you will be given a training for becoming the best the hostel receptionist :)! Everything is straightforward, fun and easy. The work includes making beds, checking in guests, reserving tours and helping the guests in gener

Working at the hostel was so nice and a fun experience! It's a new hostel that I would consider very fancy in the backpacking world and is a very comfortable space. I liked working there in the calm environment, the work wasn't too difficult, and I had fun hanging out with the other volunteers. I would say that it isn't the most social hostel I've experienced but being there with other volunteers made it still fun and once in awhile you get to meet some really fun guests:) one big bonus was that the kitchen is so nice, which is such a win when you are travelling so much in Central America.

I had a wonderful experience at the hostel. The location is very good, very close to the center. Lara was very kind. The volunteers have some free excursions and others with a great discount. The whole team was very welcoming during my stay at the hostel.

Totally recommended, it was my first volunteering experience and from the start they made me feel welcome and part of the family, I connected a lot with the staff and the other volunteers, in addition to interacting with the people who arrive there at the hostel, the reception and bar tasks were simple and easy to do, at the start they train you so you understand the logistics of the place, in addition there is food for you to prepare meals and they give you discounts on the tours they offer. Lara is a super lovely person, she’s on the lookout in case you need anything and she has a very nice hostel.

It was my first volunteering experience and I felt very good at the hostel, undoubtedly a very comfortable and quiet place where it is easy to adapt quickly; the whole team was very kind to me from start to finish. The established schedules are followed, which rotate every week; in this way it’s possible to enjoy free time on different shifts, I believe the time left is enough to be able to enjoy and get to know. I am grateful for the opportunity and experience at the hostel, this place felt like home to me in this short period of time.

The experience was great!
Lara, the owner, always kept good communication, treated me well, and a good group was formed with the volunteers who were there.
Everything mentioned on the website and what we talked about on WhatsApp was fulfilled. The place was clean, well located, with everything needed to stay for more than two weeks.
I would come back again, and even for longer!
I gained experience, developed my skills, I came away with new friends, and I was able to go, keep traveling, and if you plan to volunteer and travel at the same time it's a very good option!
