Had a great time volunteering for the project, they treated me well and were very fair about everything overall. Even though it's based in a smaller town, you still have easy access to nearby towns with lots to do. (Plus it's by the water)

Matthew was an amazing host. He was extremely hospitable, generous, kind & very easy to work with. I'm glad I was able to come and help work on the CRM and website and help transferring that over completely during my time there. I hope that what we set up together can be used by future volunteers easily and happily.

I improved my English thanks to the support of the NFBP team. Living in a small town also provided a great immersive experience. I also learned a lot about the project development at NFBP. As a suggestion, I believe Matthew could benefit from more assertive communication, a calmer tone during disagreements, and a clearer description of the tasks from the start. As a volunteer from Latin America, I made a significant financial effort to cover my flights and extra living expenses, so ending the experience early due to disagreements was difficult. Overall, I'd recommend this experience.

Matthew replied

We have extensive positive experience of hundreds of volunteers over many years, with 5 star reviews. This is a very disappointing review given everything that we did to look after Yurgen. He also ended his last position early following disagreement with his host. We accommodated his demands. He has useful skills and we valued his support. However, he did not leave a positive impression outside work. We wish him success in the future, but clearly volunteering is not the right future for him.

A truly rewarding and enriching experience Volunteering with the NFBP has been an incredibly valuable experience, both professionally and personally. From day one, I was made to feel like a genuine part of the team, thanks to the warm welcome from Alice and Matthew, who manage the programme with great care and dedication. I had the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of industries, learn from them, and build meaningful connections. I would wholeheartedly recommend this volunteering opportunity. Thank you Matthew and Alice for everything!

I had a great stay in Lymington. Matthew is a very welcoming host, and you quickly feel at ease. Alice is also very kind and does everything she can to make you feel comfortable. The tasks are interesting and varied, and they allow you to develop new skills while discovering a pleasant and professional environment. Lymington is a peaceful and charming town, perfect for a calm and enriching stay. The house is well located, close to the train station, which makes it easy to travel to nearby towns. A big thank you for this wonderful experience!
