The Experience

Help prepare SV Windfall for an upcoming ocean voyage. Tasks include sanding, painting, installing systems, rigging checks, and general boat maintenance. I’m mainly looking for someone practical who enjoys working with tools and already has some handyman, mechanical, or electrical skills. You will live aboard and be part of the final refit of a real offshore sailing project.

What a beautiful month spent on the boat. A time I will cherish always. Good people, good food, and good work. The community that Thomas has created is unlike any other and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone lucky enough to be part of it. I look forward to reuniting with the boat again and am honored I got to take part in its preparation. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and am grateful for every connection and moment spent with Thomas and crew.

Volunteering aboard the boat was a fantastic experience. I supported the daily maintenance of the boat, including cleaning, painting, basic repairs and general upkeep. Living and working together on a sailboat taught me responsibility, flexibility and the importance of cooperation. Beyond the work, I built a genuine friendship with Thomas, for which I'm very grateful. I hope our paths cross again soon—and that I'll have the chance to jump back aboard the boat and sail together once more.

I had a great time living and working on the boat! the boat is getting more and more cozy again and Thomas has the best intentions with the boat and the people living on and around the boat. I got to know him as a very sweet, care taking and helping person. I learned from him about refitting boatsand would love to come back when the Netherlands get a bit warmer. I also got to know many friends of Thomas, working and living on boats as well, which was great. If you are interested in the boat, boat life, and wood work , this is the place to go!

My stay in Almere was incredible, Thomas is super nice person, too nice for this world, my days working felt like nothing , because the boat is beautiful just like his owner. Positivity and kindness are the day a day feeling , Thomas friends that are always around are beautiful people, I could see beavers 🦫 swimming around beaver bar, that is close to Thomas house, because he is so cool that cool beavers move next to catch some vibe .my hours of work always respected, communication with thom always no problema and tasks just like the publication

I really enjoyed my time on the boat with Captain Thomas, as an experienced skipper and world Traveller he is a well of information for everything regarding ships and the boat. I spend my week helping him refit the boat and getting her the boat ready again. Thomas is very flexible in his work schedule and open to new ideas. The food is fully included and there is great care put into making it a mixed diet. You truly get a feeling for what its like to live onboard a ship and the nice/warm community around it. I look forward to coming back 🙌🏻
