Yama and Yuka are exactly what everyone has told me they would be. They are extremely welcoming and they are very proud of their the guest house and the guest house. Working hours are always respected, it really does not take long and the tasks are extremely easy. I had many opportunities at meeting locals and sharing values and such. It is very remote, but Tsushima is truly are beautiful island and I would recommend this experience to whomever loves nature and quiet life. I will definitely miss everyone I have met on this adventure. Thank you Yama and Yuka!

My experience at the the guest house was better than i could have imagined. The hosts were the kindest humans I've ever had the privilege to meet. Everything was so clean and the environment was refreshing and serene. So many different activities, such as fishing for exotic fish, biking to ancient ruins, eating delicious food, and learning about real Japanese culture. This is a destination I would recommend to anyone seeking adventure and rejuvenation of the soul! It was so hard to leave this place ! I will definitely be back !

I spent two weeks volunteering at the guesthouse and it was honestly one of the best volunteer experiences I've ever had. The work is super fair and well organized, and I had the chance to interact with local people every day, which made it really special. Yama and Yuka are so kind and welcoming, always making me feel at home. During my stay I also made great friends and shared moments I'll never forget. The atmosphere is warm and positive, and it quickly became the kind of place where you don't feel like leaving. ありがとおお

U get a beautiful guesthouse, incredible nature, kind guests and the best host u can ever wish for over all you get the best time of your life. Yama und Yuka are the most kind, friendly and funny people, they help u with whatever u need so you will feel like a part of the family from the start on. If there is one bad thing i would need to say then it's definitely that u can't stay there forever and the good bye will be heartbreaking.

Come here! Tsushima and the guest house are wonderful! I met so many wonderful locals that I am happy to now call my friends! It was truly a cultural immersion. The guesthouse and the guest house are absolutely beautiful. Cleaning was as described and took 1-2hours a day depending on how many guests were checking out. I got to work in the guest house; working on my latte art, as well as chat with many of the guest house guests. Yama and Yuka are so lovely! They are amazing people! They toured me around the island, lended me a bike, hosted barbecue and takoyaki parties so that I could experience it all “Japanese style”

優しい人々に出会えて、嬉しいです。Yasashii hitobito ni deaete, ureshii desu. (I'm happy to have met kind people.) This phrase will stay in my heart as I leave Tsushima and the guest house Guesthouse. From the amazing hosts, Yama and Yuka, to every local and guest I met — the guest house sets a beautiful example of what volunteering should be: respectful, nurturing, culturally rich, and deeply meaningful. I learned so much — not just through the tasks, but through presence, care, and human connection. ありがとう、YamaさんとYukaさん。優しさを、心に咲かせてくれてありがとう。(Thank you for letting your kindness bloom in my heart.)
