This was my first experience and I stayed for a month and extended a few more days. The vibe: very social and cozy. I met people from all over the world and had the best time with the other volunteers. The hosts: Mashi with Vero and Sorato always made me feel at home. The place: I slept in the same room with another volunteer, each had their own space. The island: My favorite thing was to use the bikes the guesthouse provided to the volunteers and rode to another island crossing the bridge. I feel there are so many things to explore at Omishima. I will never forget my time at Miyaura.

This was my first solo international trip so was really nervous but everyone at the guest house were so welcoming and made the whole guest house feel like family. The guesthouse is very social; I met so many amazing people from all over the world. Weronicka and Masashi are both very great host and the work is reasonable from cleaning to check ins all the task are listed daily. I am from a big city and honestly got a little bored some days but the other volunteers always keep me company, we also got to go into other island/ cities on our days off. I would highly recommend the guest house :)

This is my second time at Miyaura Goten, so it feels like a home away from home. The place is currently run by a Polish-Japanese couple, and that combination makes it really interesting; the guests are a mix of foreigners and Japanese people, creating a truly international vibe every day. The managers are always there to help and answer questions, and they organize activities and spaces that foster a real family atmosphere

I had an excellent experience at Miyaura Goten! Not only are Mashi and Weronika wonderful hosts who made me feel right at home, but the team they cultivate is very friendly. Ōmishima is an incredible island, where one can really absorb local nature and culture. I would absolutely recommend this hostel!! Thank you to Mashi and Weronika!

I had a really positive experience here! Mashi and everyone around are genuinely kind and welcoming, and I always felt respected and included. Since it was my first volunteering experience, this helped me open up, become more sociable and step out of my comfort zone. The working hours are very manageable, leaving enough free time to organise your own plans and explore the island. The place and surroundings are beautiful — it honestly feels like Animal Crossing! 😂 I'm leaving very happy and grateful for this experience and all the memories I'm taking with me. 🤍 I'd love to come back someday!!
