Volunteering at the hostel was a great way to explore a part of Patagonia and interact with locals. Maxi and the other volunteers were all super friendly. The area is quiet in the sense that I did not meet a lot of people outside of the hostel, but there is a LOT of beautiful scenery nearby to explore :)

To my pleasant surprise, I was welcomed by a team that conveys the values of familiarity, mutual respect, and a commitment to helping. We shared dinners, strolls, and very lovely moments, both with the other volunteers and with Maxi and his family. Thanks Maxi and Mariel for every adventure; each place you took me to was incredible. My experience with Maxi was very positive. From the first moment I felt comfortable and well received, especially since it was my first experience as a volunteer. The communication was clear and as expected, and the tasks are simple and manageable, which also allows me to enjoy the surroundings.

My experience at the hostel was very good; Maxi, the host, is a very cool and approachable person, with whom you can talk without problems! The parents who live next door are excellent people; since the day I arrived they made me feel at home. The hostel is a beautiful and peaceful place, where you meet many people; it is almost close to the center, so you have everything at hand, and Lago Puelo is a paradise that I recommend you visit!

I can say that I felt comfortable, I could talk with Maxi, exchange ideas. It's flexible in different situations. Maxi knows how to listen.
The hostel is nice and warm. Guests come from various nationalities, people of all ages, families, couples, young people.
I was lucky to share with really friendly volunteers. That is very important because it creates a good atmosphere at the place.
This isn't the first time I volunteer here.
I chose it again because I felt good, I know the place and I know Maxi.

I stayed for 15 days and there were only two female volunteers with one guest, so there were long hours with no defined tasks.
The lack of communication and guidance was the hardest part.
There was no orientation or support when I had an accident, and there was also no basic first-aid kit.
The treatment toward the volunteer team was demeaning on some occasions, and access to common spaces was limited.
It's a place with a lot of potential and a good location.
I recommend it for independent travelers who are looking for a volunteer opportunity with minimal structure and who can manage everything on their own.

As soon as she arrived, she asked to use my car to go for a free ride. Then, she would leave, along with the other volunteer, the entire kitchen dirty after cooking. Later, they were smoking joints (even though they didn't look that way) and they were completely trashed in the lobby.
