Program Details
This is a large Georgian rectory in the peaceful village of Llanfynydd, North Wales. Renovation work is resuming from November, and I’m looking for a practical, reliable volunteer to help with general hands-on tasks around the house and possibly some repairs and painting and decorating preparation.
This would suit someone who enjoys working independently and taking initiative, rather than needing close supervision. Being able to cook simple meals is a bonus.
The village is rural, with a shop and a lovely pub. Public transport is limited, but I can offer lifts to the nearest train station (around 7 minutes by car), and there are regular connections from there. Chester and Wrexham are under 30 minutes away, and Liverpool is around an hour and.
This is a relaxed and friendly household with plenty of humour. My 26-year-old son Harri also lives here, so you’ll be sharing the house with both of us. We enjoy good company but also value our own space, so it’s best suited to someone who’s happy in a quieter environment and comfortable doing their own
Activities & Shift
You’ll help around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Tasks will mainly light DIY and general hands-on work around the house as renovation progresses. There may also be some general household help, such as keeping shared spaces tidy and occasionally preparing simple meals.
This role suits someone practical and proactive who can see what needs doing and get on with it without close supervision. We’re flexible with start times, and you’ll always have two full days off each week. There is sometimes another volunteer staying.
