The Experience

Hey there! I’ve got a little house on a lovely property in McLaren Vale, South Australia — surrounded by vineyards, amazing beaches just down the road, and nature all around. At the house we have myself, my partner Tim, one permanent dog and occasional fosters, plus chickens. If you care about the planet and are interested in biodiversity, enjoy being outdoors, and love dogs (there’s a friendly one here!), then you’ll feel right at home.

I absolutely ADORED my time with Holly and Tim (and Milo). The work expected is beyond reasonable, leaving you with plenty of time to escape and really immerse yourself the farm beautiful landscape. I was given so many opportunities to immerse myself into the local lifestyle, whether it was dinner parties at home, joining biodiversity events, or walking Milo together on the beach. I am forever grateful for my time there and I hope to visit again one day. I can not recommend this experience more!

Holly and Tim were fabulous hosts. We had the best worldpacking experience of our travels and felt right at home amongst the farm. They did an incredible job of integrating us into their lives, while giving space for us to explore independently. Their altruism stands out; they give so much of their time, attention, and insight to others and the environment. Holly is unmatched in her ability to connect with others and will be on the Forbes 30 under 30 one day, and Tim is so thoughtful and kind; there's no better man for teaching the next gen to be than he. We cannot recommend them enough!

You could not ask for a better trade than getting to spend your time with Holly, Tim, and Milo amongst the endless vineyards surrounding their home. They are lovely, welcoming, passionate people that made me feel at home as soon as they picked me up from the train. Getting to spend time here was the highlight of my trip to Australia, relaxing and ground, I even got to experience one of Tim's DJ sets the farm city! I could not recommend them enough.

Holly and Tim are welcoming and friendly. They care about the environment and take action. It was nice to spend time with them. The house and surroundings are beautiful. There aren't shops or public transport nearby, but there are solutions. Milo is a sweet and funny dog, the perfect company. The tasks can be heavy, but if you enjoy gardening and physical work, it's fine. Thanks Holly, Tim, Milo, and the chickens for the experience :)

Holly and Tim are amazing hosts. They clearly explain the work that needs to be done and let you do it at your own pace, without any pressure. Even though their house is quite secluded, they are happy to drop you off at the bus or train station when they can. If you drive manual, they are even willing to lend you their car. They also included us in activities with their friends, which was really nice of them!
