I would highly reccomend this volunteer opportunity to other world packers. I appreciated the patience I was given while learning new tasks, and walked away with new skills. I felt like part of the family and made great friends with the other volunteers as well. In addition, I was able to surf every day and enjoyed relaxing around the fire at night. There is also plenty to do on the weekends. The camping area and kitchen / bathroom faculties are nice as well as the plentiful ingredients provided for breakfast. I look forward to returning to the home Azul one day.

A month at Casa Clara in the home Azul was one of the bests part of my Peru trip. Oscar, Chani, Mariasol, and Gustavo are incredibly kind and generous -they made me feel like family, not just a volunteer. It's important that volunteers are aware: it's real construction and gardening work most days, not a chill beach gig. Additionally, the home Azul is a very small town. But if you want solid Spanish practice, real connection with locals, and good surf right after work, this is the spot. It's an immersive, hyperlocal experience where you get to be surrounded by beautiful waves and amazing people.

I stayed at Casa Clara for just under two weeks, helping with building tasks on the property. The volunteer facilities have everything you need and our lovely hosts were happy to go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! The experience was great for improving my Spanish language skills, and it was a great balance of social dinners and lunches with the host and other volunteers, as well as lots of free time to relax and surf at the local beach! It was hard to leave and I'm excited to see Casa Clara grow into an amazing off-grid property! Thank you Oscar, Chani and Mariasol :)

Casa Clara was an amazing place to stay and work. Oscar, Chani and Mariasol were all so welcoming. The work was good and expectations were really clear. Oscar and Chani only spoke a little bit of English but it gave me a great chance to practice my Spanish! the home Azul is also a great town to explore, the surfing is great for beginners, the pier has fishing and the sea life and sea birds are incredible. I hope to make it back one day!

Oscar and Marisol were my introduction to the World Packers experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better start. The work is truly character-building—you'll learn things you never expected and become part of something bigger than yourself. They treated me with nothing but kindness and respect from day one, which made the entire experience even more meaningful. I highly recommend this opportunity to anyone considering it. Go in with an open mind and an open heart, and everything will fall into place

I had a great time at Casa Clara. Oscar, Chani and Maria Sol took really good care of us. The work was challenging but in a good way. Cerro azul itself is great for learning to surf and for enjoying the ocean.

My time at the home Azul's the home/Casa Clara was incredible. The family is the best and funniest family in the world and you instantly feel at home. You will have alot of converstations and they are very patient and help you if your spanish is not that well jet. The hours are really respected and you can figure out a schedule together if you want to explore the surroundings. The place is perfect if you would like to learn how to surf and aswell if you are already advanced. Thank you for this unforgettable experience! I am going to miss all of you❤️

An incredibly warm and loving family made this a wonderful experience! They were always there for me, especially when my health wasn't well, and supported me at all times.

The work is indeed very exhausting and physically demanding, but the family is very understanding, open to feedback, and always committed to improving the volunteers' experience.

I am very grateful for this beautiful experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Casa Clara!

I can recommend the experience if you want to improve your Spanish and make local and international friends. The place is very close to a surfboard rental.
To be transparent and for the safety of other female travelers, I have to say that as a woman I didn't feel comfortable for part of the time. When I arrived, during the first 10 days I was the only woman there and I wasn't warned in advance. They also made jokes at my expense; it made me uncomfortable.
I spoke with Oscar; he was very understanding, and afterwards the situation improved. That's why I rate the experience 5 stars.

My experience at Casa Clara was great! We learned a lot about basic construction thanks to Oscar and the others; the atmosphere is pleasant and warm, Oscar, Chani, and Mariasol were always concerned that we would lack nothing, so we are very grateful for their hospitality.
