I want to express my gratitude to the Kissiris for hosting me and welcoming as part of their family, giving me the chance to experience authentic tanzanian life. I had alot of fun with the kids in the library, though I do feel my experience would have been better had I come at a different time, as there were many holidays so I couldn't spend as much time with them as I would have liked! Even so, it was still a life changing experience A special mention to James for being supportive throughout and to Mama Kissiri and Betty for their delicious food and warm hospitality I truly felt at home 🤍

James is a very welcoming man, and an amazing host! He will show you how to work on the variety of options you have to volunteer for. He is also very good at helping volunteers find activities, and ensuring they can reach their destinations. I will always remember his help and knowledge. ❤️🇹🇿

It was a very good experience. I had the opportunity to fully immerse myself in their culture and meet great people. James and his family welcomed me as family and were always kind. I highly recommend such an experience to everyone

My first Worldpacker experience was positive. I appreciated the human quality of James, his family, and the local workers (not volunteers) from whom I learned many things about the local language and culture. I've a great affection for Daudi, Angela and the others workers. As for my contribution as a volunteer, I'd have liked to have more tasks to develop, to be more active and have a greater impact on the construction of the library and classroom. Maybe in the future I can return and do more or in my next Worldpacker experience. The accommodation was super comfortable and nice.

I am truly grateful with James and his family. They were such a great, helpful and kind hosts. You can do many activities if you are not into something specific; like gardering, teaching any subject you are good at to the kids, painting, etc. And if you want or need any information about activities after your working hours, James will asist you with your concerns. Loved my time spent in Arusha!

Incredible experience at Kissiri house! I couldn't recommend this enough. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and provided super hospitality and amazing food every day. Very helpful with anything we needed and also for organizing tours. The work was super rewarding and all the kids are lovely, never complaints from any of them. I can't fault this experience at all and I hope to return one day!

Everything was great! The accommodation was comfortable, the food was amazing, the hours of work were flexible, and if you wanted to switch between working on the farm and at the school that was flexible too (depending on if they needed help on the farm or not). I got the chance to meet so many wonderful people (volunteers and hosts) from different places and it was really fun spending time with all of them. If you're looking for a volunteering experience where you'll meet new people, try new things, and put a smile on a kid's face, then I definitely recommend the Kissiri House in the project :)

James and his family have been extremely welcoming! Last minute I had to change plans due to flights and he was very accommodating towards that. He was flexible with me staying longer than I planned. Helping at the school in the morning and then at the library in the afternoon really fulfilled me and I'm very glad I had this experience
