The Experience

The building currently involves preparing the new wing by cutting the rock floor with a cutting disk and finishing the cupboards in existing wing. Stuart and our 2 daughters will work alongside you at all times and Miranda will join in after school, on the weekends and holidays. The gardening involves establishing a food forest, weeding, planting and picking vegetables. Anyone who enjoys cooking is also welcome!

Miranda and Stuart are wonderful hosts‼️ Their extensive experience hosting backpackers and travelling themselves means not only that they have a seemingly bottomless bounty of stories to tell, but also that volunteering with them feels incredibly natural and genuine. While working they made a real effort to explain their projects and to teach me some relevant skills. They also encouraged me to get the most out of my visit, and always had suggestions for places to go based on my interests. There are always fresh ingredients from the garden and an array of homemade pickles and jams to enjoy. 🤤
