The Experience

This season I’m focusing on improving the finca and would love a helping hand. The work is hands-on and practical—small building projects, repairs, and working on the land. Tasks include basic carpentry, fixing things, weeding, clearing, and making paths or terraces. The land is steep and the work physical, so it suits people who enjoy being active and working outdoors.

My experience at the Finca was amazing! It was my first time volunteering and Barbs was so welcoming and kind and made me feel right at home. The tasks were easy, straightforward and flexible depending on the time of day (was hot in summer) and it was great learning about the farm and how she runs it. So many beautiful fruit trees and animals! Definitely recommend

On my arrival, I was welcomed very warmly by Barbara, the host and one of her friends, which made the experience even nicer. Lola, her dog, is also an absolute sweetheart. We shared a meal and a nice conversation, and I felt comfortable right away, almost like I had been there before. Everything was exactly as described, with no surprises and she was always available if needed. I didn't need much equipment, just comfortable clothes, a hat and a pair of gloves, which made everything simple. Overall, a very genuine experience and a space where I could learn and grow at my own pace.

This was my first ever experience working in a farm as a volunteer and I absolute enjoyed every moment of it. Babs is super chill, fun, and hardworking person. She is a great cook and always makes great meals (her fresh baked breads are amazing) The task was not rigid at all. The plan for the day was clear and Babs was always communicating ahead of time. Picking olives, packing and seeing the result of your effort when it turns into olive oil is rewarding. I've learned so many things about farm life, animals, sustainability, foods, and baking. Loved the experience and highly recommend it.😊

There's definitely no better place to return to; each time you feel more at home. Babs is an excellent host and a magnificent friend. The wonderful energy in this place, the other volunteers, and the beloved Lola... I would come back as many times as necessary...💥💥💥

I had the most incredible 10 days at Babs' finca. Babs is so kind and welcoming, and so are all the animals, especially Lola (who I miss dearly). My 10 days here felt like less of a work exchange and much more like building a community, which was so so special. The work tasks and hours are fair, the shared meals delicious, the surrounding landscape breathtaking, and the company were some of the best people I've ever met. I learnt so much during my stay and am so grateful to have experienced my first olive harvest. I can't wait to return next year for my second :) thank you so much, Babs!
