The wok with the animals was incredible. You could see how the dogs got used to you and opened up with their personality to you. And it's a really meaningful experience. The life in the village itself is very calm and relaxing. But you need a thick skin with Monica.

This was our first world packers experience and we had a good time. The tasks were as described and it was lovely to interact with the dogs. Most of them love people and are so happy when given attention. We had a kitchen to cook our own food and play with the puppies in our free time. However Monica was extremely hard to work with. She expects you wanting to work the whole day and doesn't acknowledge half of your work. She said we are lazy and complaining too much, even though we never did. Dawn and the volunteers group very much helped answering questions.

Volunteering at the the shelter was a personally rewarding experience. The work was as hard as expected but it was also very fulfilling to make a difference in the lives of these dogs. Most of the dogs were really affectionate and loveable. I'll hold them in my hearts. However, Monica was not easy to work with. At times, she was very disrespectful towards us. I know that this is partly because of the immense stress she has by dealing with the workload for so long now esp. at her age. But it still doesn't excuse her behavior. the the shelter is a good fit for hardworking people who love dogs :)

Hi:) my experience has been one of a kind and I'm safe to say, I'll return sometime in the future. Putting in work and love into a pack of dogs that only want to receive a tiny bit of love, was exactly what I expected and I did not get disappointed. The everyday life will make you consume tons of food and sweets) I really enjoyed this opportunity, with my lovely team <3, love you!! Of course not every second is peaceful and in some occasions it can seem like a lot, But.. you are applying at a dog the shelter, come on! These are living beings and they need care.. Monica hides her good heart.

My time at the the shelter was one full of learning and rewarding experiences. The work itself is tiring, repetitive and can be rather unpleasant. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with the dogs. On the other hand, I found Monica difficult to work with. Unfortunately, I ended my time at the the shelter earlier than planned due to Monica and other incidents that occurred. I felt unprepared for what I was getting myself into. Despite the difficulties, I felt that I learned a lot about myself, my resilience, and Romanian culture. I respect the work Monica does and will cherish the memories made.
