Program Details

Join Corazón de Selva as a volunteer workshop facilitator in Nuquí, Chocó. Your role will be to facilitate artistic, emotional or environmental activities with children and youth, bringing your knowledge in music, dance, visual arts, theatre, crafts or nature. You will inspire the community, supporting creative educational processes and participating in the building of a future with hope. This is a volunteer who requires a lot of autonomy and self-management. Connecting with the community is essential and that requires having sensitivity and spontaneity. Although we have a native person who receives volunteers, it depends 100% on the volunteer to generate trust and connection. This is why we ask for a minimum of two weeks in the territory to have time to create these bonds, however we prefer that it be a month or more. The more time, the better, as this allows deeper engagement in the educational processes.

Activities & Shift

Normally the workshops are held when children finish school from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and/or on weekends. If they are on vacation the activities can be in the morning. We can organize the timings so that it works for everyone. It is important to note that the volunteering time includes inviting the children and writing in a logbook what is lived in each experience.
