. My time with Shanaka was truly wonderful. Together, we painted a club for his new project, and it was a great experience. He provided all the materials I needed and gave me complete creative freedom, which is very important to me as an artist. Throughout my stay in Busan, Shanaka was always supportive and attentive. He picked me up from the airport, took me to different places, and made sure I had good food and everything I needed I am deeply grateful for his kindness, generosity, and support. Thank you, Shanaka, for making this experience so special.

Dongducheon had become like a second home to me - I celebrated a birthday while volunteering there, and felt like I was with family. Would recommend this to any traveler who's looking for amazing co-workers/roommates/management, and who likes working in a very social environment. There's a lot of proactive chatting with customers, which has let me meet some fascinating people. Note: probably good to have a “club/bar” outfit or two, as your co-workers will be dressed very well. And be prepared for late nights / early mornings some shifts - standard for the industry. Love this place

Everyone was so friendly and kind! I also like the work balance; I had plenty of time to explore. But the role was VERY different from what I understood from the listing. Coming from Canada, I expected bartending, but much of the work involved sitting with customers and encouraging drink buying. I also experienced some uncomfortable situations regarding behavior and boundaries. But I do think this experience may suit someone already familiar with Asian nightlife or hostess-bar culture. I strongly recommend that future volunteers ask detailed questions to fully understand the expectations.
