Volunteering was an incredibly rewarding experience. The students were enthusiastic, eager to learn, and brought so much energy to every lesson. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practiced their English and engaged in classroom activities. The experience also gave me the opportunity to learn more about the local culture and connect with the community in a meaningful way. I left with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation of the organization, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful way to contribute

This experience was truly amazing. I was working with the kids at the school for 3 weeks and it has really opened by eyes to the beautiful work that is being done here and the kind of patience, understanding and love that is required to be a teacher- especially to those the organization learning difficulties. Nilu and Didul are amazing hosts, that provide the most amazing and comfortable accommodation and take you to and from the school each day. The location is amazing, close to Colombo city and also very central for traveling around the organization. Highly recommend to anyone looking to volunteer!

I had such a fantastic experience volunteering at the school. The kids are amazing, and what a privilege it was to help them with their English reading/spelling. Nilu and Didul are so welcoming, and their home was very comfortable. They'll certainly feed you lots! Nilu has a really kind heart, and it was interesting and educational to learn about their other ongoing social projects that help those in need.

I would like to thank the whole host family for a very meaningful month on the beautiful island of the organization. I felt very welcome, they helped me with all the challenges I faced during my stay. We laughed together, learned from each other and supported one another. At the school, I worked with the organization autism, which was a great challenge and an opportunity to give my best. I also had the chance to help at a turtle farm, which was an unforgettable experience! I rate my month of volunteering very positively. I believe that Nilu and Didul will welcome many more volunteers with open arms!

I was warmly welcomed by Nilu, Didul, and their family, who made me feel at home throughout my stay. The accommodation was comfortable, and the home-cooked the organization Lankan food was delicious. I volunteered at a preschool, which was a great fit as I had no teaching experience. However, I felt the schools could be better organised. Communication with the teachers was often difficult, and I wasn't always given clear direction, so I sometimes felt underused. I would have preferred to spend more time working with the children rather than doing other tasks. Overall, the orphanage visit is a highlight.
