I really enjoyed my time there maybe there wasn't much chores to do but I gladly had an amazing time with the host's family that made me feel very comfortable and welcome and taught me some things about their beautiful culture.❤️

Sujeewa was welcoming and flexible with everything, it was a good opportunity and experience to come to the village while I couldn’t come back home because of the war. Although I planned to arrive before the war. We made together rice milk, he has special trees there like jackfruit and coconut trees and he has 2 lovely dogs and goat.
I had fully privacy as a woman who solo traveled is good thing that u can feel safe. I tried there for my first time Sri Lankan food and i couldn’t try in other places cause i scared but when he made dal it was perfect!! Thanks for hosting me in this time!!

I really enjoyed staying in this beautiful place surrounded by nature. The most valuable part for me was cooking together with the host family and learning how to prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes. My tasks included taking photos and videos for social media and helping to take care of the dogs. I recommend this place to people who love nature and local culture. Volunteers prepare their own lunch and dinner, but shops nearby have limited selection, so buying groceries in town beforehand is helpful. No Wi-Fi, so mobile data is needed. Having your own transport is also very helpful.

Sujeewa is a wonderful person, very friendly and fun! At the estate I learned how to make kottu, peel cinnamon bark, make a goat hut, more! It was so serene and peaceful in nature. There were a LOT of bugs and the place is not completely done, so if you're particular about cleanliness and bugs this is not for you, otherwise it's great!! Thanks Sujeewa!

We had a really amazing time with Sujeewa and his son Akane! They are fantastic people, welcoming and easygoing, with a great sense of humor. The estate is surrounded by overwhelming nature, which gave us the most delicious king coconuts we've ever tasted! We've cooked and enjoyed meals together, spend time with the doggies, and built a bench (hoping it will last until our next trip to this wonderful island)!! With love from Italy, Monica & Gaia ❤️
