When you join us, you become part of a community that extends beyond the classroom. As an assistant teacher in the beautiful provinces of Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kandal, Svay Rieng, Kampot, or Takeo, you will not only have the chance to contribute to teaching but also play an integral role in the day-to-day running of our community centers. This means you'll have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the local culture and connect with the natural beauty that surrounds you.

If you have a passion for creativity and technology, our administrative roles in Phnom Penh offer a platform for you to make a huge impact. Whether you're a photographer, videographer, writer, or possess specific IT skills, you can contribute to updating our Volunteer Handbook, enhancing our Social Media presence, creating promotional material for our schools, writing Fund Application Proposals, assisting in recruiting long-term volunteers, or developing Fundraising Campaigns. You can even help maintain and refresh our website or create video and written lessons on various topics.

But AHHA Education is more than just a place to work. We believe in providing a holistic experience for our volunteers. Alongside your service, you'll have the opportunity to indulge in traditional Cambodian cuisine and stay in shared rooms with other international volunteers. This not only fosters a sense of community but also creates a platform for a rich cultural exchange.

So why should a traveler choose to volunteer at AHHA Education? Because here, you'll find more than just a volunteering opportunity – you'll find a transformative experience that combines meaningful work, cultural immersion, and personal growth. Bopha & Moonie made us feel very welcome and the work they do at AHHA Kampot is amazing.

The academy students were also very welcoming, allowing us to be part of their community and exchange cultures.

The accommodation is basic but it absolutely fine. It adds to the experience. They were very accommodating of our dietary requirements (as vegetarians).

There could have been better communication about our responsibilities and expectations prior to arrival. We were told we'd be assistant teachers but were sometimes left to teach alone.

Overall, an amazing, life changing experience.

I was in Ou Chum Ratanakiri province. The administration & arrangements through Peter in Phnom Penh were good. The head teacher/manager Panha works incredibly hard in both teaching and running the school. All the teachers are very competent, open to new ideas and easy to get along with. I also learned from them, English grammar for sure as well as some teaching practices. The students are endearing, from the 4 year old to the teenagers. For me, the greatest reward was in working with the students, both 1 - on 1 and in teaching classes and seeing their learning & development.

Volunteering here has been an incredibly enriching experience! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into a warm and supportive family environment. The team's commitment to their mission of empowering underserved youth through education is truly inspiring, and their passion shines through in everything they do.
The immersive experience provided me with valuable insights into Cambodian culture and allowed me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students. My only warning is to be prepared for basic conditions, which you may not be used to! Just remain open minded and patient :)

The best experience I have had by far!!! 🫶🏽 I only have words of gratitude for AHHA and the entire team. Now I feel like I have a big family in Cambodia. The students are adorable, the trainees and teachers. I started in the province teaching and creating some social media and I ended up in the main center in Phnom Penh making some videos, taking photos, supporting some graphic design and at the end I painted a mural!
Thank you for allowing me to live this experience.

I also met an incredible group of international volunteers💗 We had a really good time together.
