Why choose our place ? :

At AHHA Education Cambodia, volunteering goes far beyond a conventional placement. It is an immersive, socially engaged experience within a transnational educational network dedicated to reducing structural inequalities through access to quality learning. Since 2000, our programs have reached over 200,000 students across Asia, and today our schools welcome around 15,000 learners every day in Cambodia, Laos, Japan, and Timor-Leste.

What distinguishes our organization is its hybrid model: we combine educational initiatives with a sustainable social enterprise approach. This means that, as a volunteer, you are not only contributing in the classroom but also engaging with a broader ecosystem that connects education, community development, and social impact.

We are active in several locations across Cambodia, including Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Koh Dach, Kampot, Takeo, and Phnom Penh. Each place is different. Some are more rural and quiet, close to nature, while others are more lively and closer to the city. This gives volunteers the chance to discover different sides of the country.

One of our most unique projects is our International School in Koh Dach, a small island on the Mekong River near Phnom Penh. This school offers a more structured learning environment with English, IT, and life skills classes. Volunteers there can help in class, support activities, and take part in building a strong learning environment for students.

A flexible and meaningful role :

We value adaptability and initiative: volunteers are encouraged to engage in a variety of activities depending on local needs and their own skills.
This may include:
- Supporting classroom activities (English, IT, life skills)
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation or informal tutoring
- Participating in community life and extracurricular programs
- Contributing to creative or operational projects
For those based in Kampot or involved in administrative functions, there are also opportunities to work within our communication and development teams. This includes content creation, social media management, storytelling, photography/video production, website updates, and fundraising support. These activities directly strengthen the NGO’s business arm, which finances our schools and ensures the sustainability of our programs.

Explore Cambodia :

During your free time, you will have the opportunity to explore Cambodia’s diverse landscapes and cultural heritage. Depending on your location, this may include:
National parks and natural reserves (Bokor Mountains,...)
Rivers, waterfalls, and rural countryside
Temples, pagodas, and local markets
Coastal areas and nearby islands
Each province offers a different perspective on Cambodia, allowing you to experience both its environmental richness and cultural diversity.
