Our Farm and business located in the middle of the nature, but close enough the famous Ski Center Ruka. In summer (and in winter) the really nice National Park Oulanka and other national parks invite you to explore clean and authentic nature. In wintertime Ruka Ski Center calls you to ski! You are a member of our family.

Me and my mom are both Wilderness guides, chefs and multi-skilled professionals in the tourism industry. In the winter time we have 1-2 workers (wilderness guides and waiters) and 2-4 volunteers. We have had many volunteers (mostly via Workaway) and many of them has come again - I think that tells how we treat volunteers or anyone we meet.

I had a fantastic time in Ajakka with Miia and Pipsa. We worked 5 hours each day, the hours were respected and we didn't work more than the 5 hours. I was lucky enough to experience how they herded reindeers. The property is remote so on my days off i hiked and went to the national park. I've learnt a lot here from starting a fire to milking a goat. Miia and Pipsa are very good at communicating and tell you exactly how your day is going to go. They are very friendly and it feels like a home away from home. I'll be back in winter!

My experience at Ajakka was wonderful. This paradise by the lake offers absolute peace in nature. Alongside daily chores, I loved learning new skills like animal care, milking goats, and prepping the wood-fired sauna. Pipsa and Miia are amazing hosts: tireless, welcoming and also great chefs! They shared their culture, delicious homemade food, and ethical lifestyle. The lake was a daily ritual: watching the sunrise and sunset on the water was a breathtaking spectacle I couldn't get enough of.
