Aldeia do Leão
With our experience, volunteers will have direct contact with nature, access to local people who will want to exchange experiences, and all the diversity that Chapada das Mesas offers.
We are a village moving toward sustainability with a strong influence from the Krahô people. The project promotes permaculture, biosustainable constructions, and alternative ways of thinking about our consumerist existence. We are a family learning to live, and volunteers are invited to learn with us in the unique way that being from here feels. On our property we have a small waterfall that attracts tourists, as well as our wooded camping area.

The project... simply a magical place, Herly makes it all enchanting. From the moment I arrived as a guest she made me feel at home, and as the days passed we agreed that I would stay there as a volunteer, and it was the best choice I made. I learned so much from her that it doesn't fit here; the place's structure is great, there is a shower in the backyard, it's a bit far from the city so I recommend it for those who like calm or have a car to do the outings, because everything is far away. In the village meals are provided for us and that is one of the many differentiators of Herly, she is sooo welcoming, I already miss her.

The choice of volunteering in the project as my first experience with Wordpackers could not have been better. Herly, together with her sons and daughters, besides welcoming me very well, we managed to be quite flexible regarding the number of hours worked and the services to be done. Since I went during the carnival period, from the first moment we talked about my assistance during those days and I had days off because of it afterwards. I really felt Aldeado! The desire was not to leave... But someday I’ll be back! That, with all certainty, one month at Aldeia passed by very quickly due to how good it was!

One of the best experiences I've ever had on the platform. The project is a place rich in nature, culture and connection with the region's indigenous peoples. I recommend without a doubt. I am grateful for the exchange, for the experiences and for the connection of this experience.
