Alkesh and Alix

We live in Loughborough, a small town between Leicester and Nottingham, so with access to cities and nature, with walks you can do with out any transportation. We also have bikes you can borrow.
We have a nice house with a garden where I try to grow some vegetables and fruits. We have a double room for our guests, we share the bathroom and eat together. We take turns cooking though I'm always grateful if someone offers me food! We do the food shopping though, so not need for money.
I am vegetarian but my husband isn't.

We treat people as friends, we have been doing hospitality for over 20 years and some people have remained long term friends. We are not a business- just a home. Our kids have grown up and left home though they visit sometimes. We need people for house/cat /garden sitting when we are on holidays, sometimes, for gardening and other tasks when we're at home too.

I am a language teacher and photographer. I can help with English or French grammar and vocabulary. I love sharing skills to do with photography, drone etc. Alkesh is a designer, teacher and musician, we also record music at home, so bring your instrument or best singing voice :)
If I have time, I love going for walks with our guests, showing them round, taking photos or just chatting.

I am French, speak Spanish and am learning Italian and |Portuguese so I'm always happy to speak in these languages and would love help with Portuguese.

I practice yoga, meditation and follow it as a spiritual path. We are open to all creeds and cultures but won't tolerate sexism, homophobia, racism or bigotry. We have hosted people from all over the world and all religions from 15 to 70+
We are fine with alcohol, and smoking in the conservatory, but not inside and no getting really drunk.

We look for people who are trustworthy, responsible, take initiative- ie don't wait to get asked to tidy up- are happy to share, ask us questions about us, be interested and interesting, happy to chat. We understand the need for time off and solitude too and we are both very independent.

We have just started with worldpackers but have been with workaway for years, we have all positive reviews but workaway is limiting travelers to UK, that's why we started here.
