Arch Dormitorio Cenang
We are a new hostel trying to venture into a new market. We started with a hotel in 2019 and it has been ups and down with the pandemic hitting the world. After the pandemic, number of hostel in Langkawi started to declined and we saw it as an opportunity. Now we are looking for and experienced traveler who has been travelling to share the knowledge with us and vice versa.
Our place is own by Malaysian and we are happy to share all our knowledge in in regards to Malaysian diversify race, cultural, religion, flora fauna, and destination of interest for traveller especially backpackers who plan to spend time exploring Malaysia. We are also happy share all our know managing a hostel or hotel based on our experience to those who are interested. We will be offering place to sleep, breakfast and some locals Langkawian perks and benefit (discount on activities or tours etc) to all volunteer staying with us.

I had a great time volunteering at Arch Dormitorio. The hostel itself is very chill and has a nice, comfortable common area. There is also a kitchen so you have the option of cooking your own meals. You only have to work 4 hours a day with one day off a week so you have plenty of free time to explore the island. Mala and Syed were both always kind, patient and easy to work with. I also met some really amazing people while volunteering here which made the experience even better!

Mala was very nice and helpful. The hostel is very nice and easy to live in. If you are looking for a more social atmosphere this might not be the one for you. The work is easy and overall I enjoyed myself

Volunteering at Arch Dormitorio was such a calm and comfortable first Worldpackers experience. The hostel itself just feels like a big house share where you don’t feel you’re on top of one another with how spacious it is and everyone staying is so friendly. Mala, (hostel’s manager) has the kindest soul and ensures you’re looked after for - any queries you have, she’s always willing to get them answered to without fail. The tasks listed are reasonable and they respect the 4hr shift duration, so I was never overworked and thanked for the work I completed on the day. Thank you for everything x

I had a lovely time with Arch. Their organized systems and strict 4-hour shifts left plenty of time for volunteers to explore the island. Mala, the new hostel manager, was a pleasure to work with – calm, competent, and patient in guiding us. Her clear vision for hostel improvement was admirable. Syed, the general manager, is a great cook and having a few insightful conversations with him added to this enriching experience.

I enjoyed my time here. It’s a cute, peaceful island if you’re looking for something quiet. The managers Syed and Mala are soo sweet. Syed would often cook us traditional dinners some nights, which I really appreciated. There’s not much to do on the island after a while but the empty beaches and pretty sunsets make up for it:)
