Backpackers San Pedro

We are a family business, whose owners, Alvaro and Fabiola, decided to venture on their own business after working years in the tourism area. Alvaro is a professional chef and expert in international food; Fabiola is a tourism studies graduate and professional bilingual tour guide. Our hostel is oriented to the backpackers all over the world, who wants to live the warmth and good vibe that involves the abrupt and arid landscapes of San Pedro de Atacama.

We offer you accommodation in a mixed, shared dormitory with 4 beds (2 bunks).

At the hostel you have free use of laundry facilities (detergent included). The kitchens have sugar, oil and salt.

You also have hot water showers in shared bathrooms.
Starlink Internet.
We have free activities such as:
pisco sour classes, wine night...

If you sell any craft or food, you can offer it to the guests.

In exchange we ask for 25 hours of work, 6 days a week, with availability to work overtime, which are paid at $2,500 per hour, plus 10% of the earnings from commissions that tourism agencies give us for tour sales.

Another thing, we do not allow volunteers at the hostel to work elsewhere, unless it is freelance work, such as selling crafts, selling food, or playing music in restaurants, etc. The thing is you should not have fixed hours that clash with the hostel duties.

It is also important that you have good harmony with the whole team. Volunteers are asked to have a positive, friendly, respectful attitude. This will also depend on the length of stay at the hostel. The first 15 days are always a probation period and we reserve the right to dismiss volunteers who do not meet the profile. Conversely, for the good ones, we do not let them go!!!

At the hostel we sell excursions for other agencies. If you want to take any excursion, you can do so at the agency's transfer price.
