Supporting a Child’s Education

With over 180 children currently attending our school, supporting every child is a significant responsibility.

BCHF currently supports 25 children with their education, but many more children remain without sponsorship. For families facing financial difficulties, meeting the cost of education can be extremely challenging.

During your time with us, you may meet and connect with a particular child whose story touches your heart. If you feel connected to one of the children and would like to support their education, you can choose to sponsor that child.

Child Sponsorship

Sponsoring a child costs €60 per term, covering three months of education.

One term: €60
One year: €180

Your sponsorship can help a child remain in school, continue their education, and have a better opportunity for the future.

We believe every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and dream, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Your support can help make that possible.

Your Time Can Make a Difference

Living and volunteering with us gives you the chance to experience authentic Kenyan community life while contributing to meaningful work that directly benefits children and families.

At BHA and BCHF, you do not simply come to volunteer. You become part of a community working together to bring hope, opportunity, and a brighter future to children and families in Kenya.

Your time, skills, compassion, and presence can make a difference.

We are a humble, warm, and welcoming team who truly enjoys meeting new people and learning from different cultures. Hosting volunteers is a joy for us, and we are always excited to open our doors and hearts to those who join our community. We value shared experiences, new ideas, and meaningful collaboration, and we look forward to working together to create positive and lasting change. You are genuinely welcome here.

If you would like to make an additional contribution to support the school, children, or any of our ongoing projects, you are most welcome to do so. Any additional support is greatly appreciated but completely voluntary.

Accommodation

Volunteers stay in our mission home, located within walking distance of the project site. The home is safe, comfortable, and offers a warm, family-like environment where volunteers can relax, connect, and become part of the community.

Location and Safari Experience

Our project is located near the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

We are also partnered with Wimbaway Safaris, a trusted safari provider that can organize unforgettable wildlife experiences for volunteers. Safari trips can be arranged during your stay, with pick-up directly from the project site for your convenience.

This makes it easy for you to explore Kenya’s incredible wildlife, landscapes, and cultural heritage while staying with us.

Volunteer Experience

Our school and community projects operate with limited resources, so flexibility, patience, and creativity are very important. Some days may be simple or challenging, but there is always meaningful work to be done.

Your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to help can make a real difference in the lives of the children and the wider community.

Support Our Mission

We warmly encourage volunteers to support our work through fundraising or sharing our mission with others before or during their stay.

If you feel able to support the school through fundraising, educational materials, donations, or other resources, we would be very grateful. All additional support goes towards improving the lives of the children and strengthening our projects.

We appreciate all forms of support, whether financial, educational, artistic, technical, or hands-on. Your ideas and skills are always welcome as we continue to grow and improve our programs.

My time at the organization was absolutely incredible! The host and staff were wonderful and very accommodating, they're the reason that my experience was so easy and comfortable. Although, I'd say the best aspect of this foundation is the school kids and the meaningful relationship you build with them. 190 friendly and energetic children eager to speak and learn from you is truly heartwarming and it's what I loved the most. the organization is phenomenal and I would love to visit this foundation again!

A presto <3

This experience is truly life-changing for so many reasons. It gives you the opportunity to experience firsthand a reality that is very different from what we are used to, and it puts you face-to-face with real needs. It gives you the opportunity to do something concrete to make a difference. One thing I would definitely say is that this is a reality that needs a lot, but above all, it needs people who are willing to get involved, be creative, and bring joy. I would strongly recommend bring simple school & creative supplies: pencils, erasers, modeling clay, sharpeners, red pens, notebooks etc.

Gaia was one of the best volunteers we have had. She was kind, easy to be around, and genuinely committed to supporting the children. Through her donation, we were able to complete the Special Needs Room, which has made a meaningful difference for the children.

I truly appreciate Gaia and her family for trusting us and supporting this important project. Thank you, Gaia, for your time, kindness, and support, and for being such a wonderful ambassador for BCHF. We will miss you❤️

Life changing experience. The children are amazing, but their most urgent needs are food, clothes, shoes, school supplies, and Bibles. During my stay, I saw children eating mainly corn flour mixed with water, and some cried from hunger. In my opinion, meeting these basic needs should come before expansion projects. If you donate, consider bringing essential supplies or make sure your money directly benefits the children. They should always be the priority. Future volunteers should consider buying supplies in Nairobi before travelling, as this can provide more direct support to the children.

Hi, thank you for sharing your concerns. The Worldpackers contribution covers volunteer hosting costs such as meals, accommodation, utilities, and internet, not children’s food.
A short stay cannot show the full picture of our challenges or the work being done behind the scenes. Personal items are unrelated to organisational funds.
Honestly, in all my years of hosting volunteers, your stay has been the most difficult and disappointing. The children remain our priority, and I wish you well.
