The Experience

The adventure, as we may like to call it, gives young children a chance to see the flipside of Animal life in Parks and challenge themselves in many ways. It's not just about the building project and the kids camp, working with an Organisation in different areas of development work and interacting with community from a different culture are life skills. Of course it provides a better learning but we believe it is also part of Enjoying nature.

I really enjoyed my stay with Andrew and his family. I really felt at home because of the hospitality. the kids where fun to hang out with and where also really kind. I really enjoyed my time here and I can't wait to visit again some time.

This was a beautiful experience ! Andrew makes you feel at home, and the house is quite confortable. You will discover the local culture, through Sunday's church service or through local shows... Also you will know the daily life of one hundred of children, and you will be able to teach them as if you were a real teacher ! The children are aware of how lucky they are, and they are perfect pupils. It was a pleasure to teach them.
However, be careful : some people of Andrew's circle could think that you are a "rich white person" !

When it comes to volunteering, I had always been a bit skeptic. But since Andrew picked me up in Nairobi, all my fears disappeared. During the drive home I felt much passion for the cause and much love for those the foundation was taking care of. And indeed this is the same I've experienced too during my stay. Andrew and his family made me feel very confortable, as part of their family. So I was very up to do mi best for the kids. And, truly, I can only appreciate the efforts the foundation does for those in need. I would recommend everybody to live this experience, is just lifechanging.

This trip was absolutely incredible.
Andrew and his family were so welcoming, and helped us with whatever we needed.
I chose to teach in the school and I can say with absolute confidence that those children are the sweetest kids you will ever meet. They are polite and funny and so eager to learn.
It is quite a culture shock staying here as it’s so different to the UK, the things we consider normal are a luxury to them. While the living situation in the house is comfortable, don’t expect too much. The town is lovely, the locals friendly and the scenery is beautiful.

I had enjoyed my time with Andrew and his family. His oldest son and I got along so well and enjoyed playing Uno together he might need a new deck of cards if anyone has an extra deck. My focus was to work with teachers and teach them the basics of a sewing machine so that they can then teach the students how to sew period pads along with basic bags. While the teachers have a new sewing machine and supplies, they will also be in need of any general supplies in the future. Fabric is easy to aquire but pins, needles, and and all of the little tidbits we take for granted are much harder to find.
