Blissful child support initiative Uganda

Volunteering here is much more than offering your time it’s about creating lasting impact and unforgettable memories. 💛 You’ll have the chance to directly support vulnerable children, orphans, street kids, and youth with special needs through education, mentorship, and creative activities.

At the same time, you’ll immerse yourself in the warmth of Ugandan culture, enjoy genuine local hospitality, and build meaningful connections with the community. Volunteers are not treated as outsiders, but as family—your skills, stories, and energy will be valued as we work together to create hope, joy, and opportunities for the next generation.

My name is Bukenya George, and I am passionate about community development and empowering children through education and mentorship. I work alongside a small but committed team of local staff and volunteers who share the same vision: creating opportunities and a brighter future for young people.

We welcome international volunteers with open arms, eager to exchange knowledge, culture, and experiences.

🌟 How you’ll be treated as a volunteer:

🤗 Warm Hospitality – From day one, you’ll feel part of the family.

🙌 Respect – Equal treatment regardless of your background, culture, or nationality.

🧭 Support – Guidance and orientation to help you settle in and thrive.

🌍 Cultural Exchange – Opportunities to share your skills and learn about Ugandan traditions.

🛡️ Safety & Care – A safe and respectful environment where your wellbeing comes first.

We believe that when volunteers feel welcomed, valued, and supported, they can give their best to the children and the community—and leave with lifelong memories.

My experience in Jinja First: I was received very warmly and treated excellently. They took care of me at all times, since it's not advisable to go out alone in the city due to safety reasons. Emanuel, Bukenia, and Sandra were amazing the whole time. Second: Regarding the volunteer work itself, the schools were very far from where I was staying. This made interaction with the children very difficult, and the level of poverty among them is so severe that we were only able to visit them two days out of the 15 days I was there. I've already spoken with them t

Dear Abel,
Thank you so much for your honest review and for staying with us. We really appreciate your kind words and your support. We are sorry that you could not spend enough time at the school. You are right, and we understand your concern. At that time, our accommodation was far from the school and we did not have daily transport, which made it hard to visit often. Now we have improved this. We got a new place very near the school, so volunteers can walk easily and spend more time with kids
