The Escola Casa do Mar team is made up of a group of Brazilians and foreigners living in Rio de Janeiro, and coming from backgrounds as diverse as education, finance, technology, the arts, and Christian ministry. We are united in our interest in small-scale social entrepreneurship, this city's natural beauty, and appreciating its arts and music scenes. You'll most likely find us at Posto 12 "in the process of getting into surfing".

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and going to Rio to help at Escola casa do mar was one of the best decisions I ever made!! The people I met there will forever stay close to my heart <3
Victor, James and Lydia did their best job at providing a comfortable environment in the house and also at the school, to say the least. It’s also a great opportunity to make a real change in people’s life’s when you’re teaching English at the school.
Adding to those things, it's also in a great location, safety wise and also close to the best beaches in Rio.

I really enjoyed every moment at Casa Do Mar. This was my first world packers experience. I met amazing people, and it really felt like a family. I appreciate James and Larry and the rest of the gente at Casa Do Mar 💚 for creating such a nurturing environment. You will be immersed in Brazilian culture and get to experience the local culture around you. Working with the children is awesome, they are energetic and eager to learn! Also it is close to some of the best beaches in Rio! It was an amazing experience and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a fun, life changing experience.🇧🇷

The exérience at eschola casa do mar was one I will never forget. The program gives you the oppurtunity to make real change within society and gives you a real life look at how most of Rio lives. Through the school, I was able to face challenges, establish connections, and learn about other people´s lives that were so vastly different than my own.

Si buscas sumergirte en la cultura local y crear un impacto social, este voluntariado es para ti. La gente a la que le enseñas inglés es muy entusiasta y están constantemente buscando mejorar, los alumnos son personas encantadoras. El programa ya lleva un tiempo, por lo que podrás notar como algunos de sus alumnos han avanzado y ya tienen un muy buen nivel! Son personas muy esforzadas. Y el voluntariado es tal cual como se explica en la descripción, se respeta todo. Gracias chicos por hacerme parte! (;
