Description
To cover the cost of accommodation, breakfast, and private taxi transfer to and from all projects, we ask for a contribution of 100 reais per night – less than you’ll pay for a nice hostel in the city. Early Bird Price: 75 reais Standard Price: 90 reais Early Bird Price for Feb-March cohort - sold out. Standard Price - Feb-March cohort - spots still available.

The Experience
A four-week program in social entrepreneurship run in collaboration with three partner NGOs across the city while staying at a charming 19th-century house in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro's bohemian, hilltop neighborhood. The next cohort commences on February 19th, 2024. It is possible to join for two of the four weeks. Future cohorts will run throughout 2024. I can not recommend this experience enough, unfortunately I did not get to teach a ton due to the holidays but I enjoyed every minute spent with the kids and adults in the classroom and found Vidigal to be a lovely home away from home. Larry, James, Lydia, and Victor were all so wonderful and inspiring. My favorite trip yet :) 🫶

James, Lydia, Victor and Larry were excellent hosts and super welcoming and friendly. I love this project and having the ability to meet locals and provide a service to the community. The housing facilities were constantly being improved while I was there and it has a clean, safe, cozy vibe. I would have stayed longer if I could! I appreciate the mixture of casual, laidback, friendly vibe at the hostel and then the professional commitment & engagement with the kids and adults at the school.

Had a fantastic time volunteering and staying in the hostel. Got on very well with my fellow volunteers and everyone involved with the classes and house, had a great experience teaching English to the locals. Highly recommend this experience as much as I enjoyed my time in Rio before volunteering, I enjoyed my time after I started volunteering more so.
