My time at the hostel was absolutely great! Matheus is such a funny, kind, and helpful guy. Working with him was a lot of fun, and I also really enjoyed spending time with him outside of work. The work is simple, typical hostel stuff: cleaning, reception, and helping out with whatever else needs to be done. The hostel itself is very cozy and has a perfect location. I would definitely come back anytime. Thank you, Matheus - I'll miss you!

Matheus is a very particular person. While he is flexible with schedules and clear about tasks, he fails in communication; in my case I don't like the passive-aggressive comments.
I stayed a total of three weeks in the hostel, the first two were fine, the last one fell short a bit.
The facilities for volunteers leave a lot to be desired.
The reception tasks are confusing, as although it is clear on some things, sometimes he changes plans and lets us resolve decisions on our own that he later questions.

We believe that the fact that this was her first volunteer experience and the first time she has stayed in a hostel made communication quite challenging for us; although she performed well with all her tasks, I think she reacted a bit poorly when we had to comment on and observe some details of her stay, for example when she moved rooms without warning or consulting with the team first, which could have caused a problem with room occupancy. Otherwise, she is friendly and cordial.

The hostel is a very good place to live and experience montevideo ! The location is close to the nice spots in the city and in a very nice neighbourhood. Matheus was very welcoming and made integration into the city quiete easy for me. The tasks were easy and included cleaning and being at the reception. I had a very good time, muchas gracias Matheus :)

I was very well received by the host Matheus, very attentive and kind throughout my stay. Hostel CasaMutante has a great location, it's comfortable and now in winter it was essential to have a heater and hot water. The tasks are divided among the volunteers and by shifts, everything organized, Matheus is calm and flexible, he respects everyone's working hours and days off. It was my first experience outside Brazil and it was great, I felt at home! Thank you for having me, Matheus, see you next time (:

The physical space of the hostel is sensational! The house has stunning architecture and an exceptional location! The tasks were easy, and Matheus always helps when he's at the hostel, in addition to always having great recommendations on what to see or do in Montevideo!
