Natalia does everything so that we feel comfortable at the lodge! I was the only volunteer, so I could do various tasks. We talked a lot, which allowed me to significantly improve my Spanish!

It was a nice stay with Natalia who took good care of me. I was the only volunteer, so I worked quite a bit for about 5 hours a day, doing different tasks. The castle is far from Sucre but offers an amazing view of the valley. If you want to disconnect while learning new things, this is the perfect place. I was able to talk a lot with Natalia and, at the same time, have my moments; I recommend this place!

Volunteering at the lodge was an overall great experience. We worked mainly on painting and gardening. We also learned about permaculture practices. Natalia is a great host, she always made sure we were happy. The work hours, meals and everything was as posted.
On a personal level, I did not feel the most comfortable when the host made generalizing and stereotypical comments around Indigenous communities in Bolivia, since I truly believe it's harmful to put an entire community in one box. Despite this, I'd encourage anyone to volunteer at the lodge.

Comments, stories, the tales in which one bears witness or participates in a conversation, form an atmosphere of communication and trust. If someone did not express their own opinion or disagreement, did not show their arguments or thoughts, they missed the moment. Because they don't even remember what the topic is about. It seems like childish gossip to dwell on topics from other people's stories and experiences instead of telling how fun the last day was.

And finally. No means no. Understanding that would save many things.

My experience at the lodge was really good. Work consisted of painting, organizing and a lot of hours in the garden. The host fed us all meals and it was a cozy stay in a beautiful landscape. The only point of tension is the host is a bit controlling and everything that you do she should approve of, including access to the kitchen, laundry, etc.

Everyone understands that private houses have owners, and in them there are basic norms and rules of coexistence that must be respected. These rules are not meant to bother anyone, but to guarantee order, respect, and a harmonious coexistence among all. To ensure there is enough food, water, electricity, and Internet.
Controlling or not having "Access to the kitchen" happened to them during volunteering in Paraguay. Here the access was free, giving them the possibility for their culinary experiments.
