Chalet del Sole Altanca

Hi! We are Ettore & Rossella :) Staying with us often means meeting cheerful, friendly, and interesting people from many different countries. It’s an ideal option for very open-minded travelers who are used to hostels, tents, or shared spaces. If you're looking for a positive, informal, open-minded and multicultural environment in the middle of the Alps, surrounded by nature and amazing mountains, brething pure air, drinking good and fresh water (no plastic bottles here!), then you're in the right place 😊
If you like to make some experience in guest welcoming, booking management, cleaning and maybe cooking and you don't need more than something to eat and a clean shared room to sleep, you're in the right place.
If you need privacy, luxury, or are not comfortable sharing a room, then this is not the right fit.
If you enjoy cultural exchange, we are always happy to spend time with volunteers — joining outings with friends, dinners out, skiing, walks, short trips, and excursions in the surrounding area. We are also always available to offer tips on places to visit and things to do nearby ✨

We are an easygoing, friendly, and very very open-minded couple. We’ve traveled extensively, we are very used to sharing spaces and experiences with others, and we understand that good coexistence requires mutual respect and tolerance. We genuinely enjoy meeting new people, exchanging experiences, and especially practicing languages.
Ettore is currently studying Russian and Albanian and improving his Spanish and English.
Rossella is still improving her French and her English and would like to learn German.
So language exchange is very welcome!
We offer a place to sleep (the volounteer will share our bedroom with us, so little space and no privacy at all! :) ), board, and Italian lessons if needed. Since we work a lot and have limited time, optional help with welcoming guests, cleaning and cooking is appreciated, as well as conversation in Spanish, English, Russian, French Albanian — or any other language you may speak 😊
Volunteers can expect a respectful, warm, and relaxed environment, where sharing, learning, and enjoying the mountains all go hand in hand.

This has been my first experience as a volunteer, and the truth is that I have no words to describe the great satisfaction this experience has left me. It was two weeks during which I learned to value the effort of the people who live there. Ettore and Rosella are wonderful people whom I have grown to care for a lot, and I have great respect and admiration for the way they welcomed me and gave me the confidence to enter into their lovely house. They were always attentive to what I needed, they took me to discover places with their friends, and they gave me a great stay. 🤍

I want to express my immense gratitude for the incredible experience I had during my volunteer work at the guest house. I am taking away many lessons, special moments, and a great life lesson. Thank you for opening the doors for me, for introducing me to your friends, and for allowing me to know a little more about your view on life. More than a volunteering experience, it was an opportunity to grow, learn, and carry memories that I will treasure dearly. Thank you for the trust, the generosity, and for making me feel part of a community. Without a doubt, I leave with a full heart and a great lesson.😊

I am very grateful to Ettore and for the trust he placed in me by allowing me to be here. The activities to be done are not very complex, but if you don't understand something, Ettore explains it to you as many times as necessary with a lot of respect. He is a good host with whom you can discuss different topics. The area is very beautiful and peaceful; if what you're looking for is to be in contact with nature, this is the right place. I leave very happy and I hope to be able to return 🫶🏼
