Chapter San Francisco

A warm welcome to the Bay! We are a minimal base hostel for international travelers, digital nomads, and the tech community in the Nob Hill| Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, providing a clean and safe community for traveling guests and volunteers to be productive, making the most of their time to enjoy SF and pursue their goals.

While we aren't a typical party hostel, we value having a good time.
Our location is close to the busy Fillmore Street and Polk Street neighborhoods, where you can find cafes, grocery stores, eateries, bars, and cocktail lounges. The famous Golden Gate Bridge is within a 15-minute drive or bus ride.

Volunteers who love this place tend to be or strive to be independent and proactive, have hobbies, occupy their time with a wishlist of things to do, work at another job (whose schedule will come 2nd to ours), or spend time growing their skills.

We're celebrating 1 year under our brand and are so grateful for volunteers!

Our team consists of a few moving parts. You'll interact most with the Operational Manager, Assistant manager, and other volunteers.

This is a perfect chance to enjoy city living and have fun exploring everything the state of California and surrounding areas like South Lake Tahoe have to offer!

Thankful for this experience. David was a great manager and was able to foster a fun, cohesive work environment. All of the volunteers were super chill and very helpful with navigating SF.

There is a volunteer room, lounge, and kitchenette which gives space from the guests (that is needed). There is not a stipend for food, but food is provided for meetings, and there are events that can be decided by the volunteers.

The location that the hostel is located is convenient and safe. This was my 1st and 3rd Worldpackers, and I definitely recommend. Come here first if you've never been here.

The hostel is likely the best place to volunteer at in SF at the moment. The facilities are great and allow for a lot more privacy than an average hostel. The shifts are made up of expected tasks and you get into the flow very fast. The team is caring and friendly. The neighborhood is safe and well connected. I hope to return next year!

I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The facilities were in excellent condition, and the schedules and quiet hours were always respected. Thanks to the staff and volunteers, I had one of the best experiences I've ever had in the city. Excellent hostel, definitely the best one I've ever stayed at. I highly recommend it!

The volunteers and managers are nice, work was simple and manageable. Not much for events, most of the guests were older working professionals and not actual travelers. Place is treated more like a co-living establishment than a typical hostel setting. Good place if you're trying to move to the hostel and get your feet wet I suppose. Volunteers were super nice and invited me out with them often :)
