Espaço Amor

Because we are located two blocks from a clean, quiet beach. The studio is 10 minutes from the Boiçucanga bus station and has a municipal bus to all the other beaches of São Sebastião. It is a 20-minute walk from the Ribeirão de Itu waterfall, also located in the Boiçucanga neighborhood. The neighboring beaches are for surfing: Maresias and Cambury. There are shops nearby. You can create in the studio if you want; there is an easel and a workbench for manual crafts, nearby shops. Nature and simplicity.

In addition to a beautiful inspiring garden in the middle of the Atlantic Forest.
There are Nichiren Daishonin Buddhist meetings held in the space as well, you can participate (BSGI-SGI).

I am Yara Amaral Gurgel, founder and manager of the space, I am a visual artist. Get to know my work: http://instagram.com/yaramaral7 and http://yaramar.al

Volunteering at Espaço Amor was important. With Yara, I learned about sustainability and Buddhism, experiences I look for in my volunteering. She invited me to participate in several activities and gave me tips about the city. This volunteering is great for anyone who needs to balance it with work. Thank you for the warm welcome and kindness, Yara.

Espaço do el anfitrión is a quiet, pleasant place near beautiful nature. Yara is a painter with several years of experience, calm and kind, she likes to meditate and has a very cute kitten. The hours are fair and the tasks simple; she relies on different activities such as cleaning and organizing. In the free hours you can enjoy Boiçucanga, from the beach to its beautiful cascades, learn Buddhist meditation if you dare and more activities. Thanks for the opportunity!

A Yara welcomed us very well to her space, she was very attentive and helpful. It’s worth saying that Yara is a fantastic artist, and some of her tasks involve painting. The volunteer work is fair and the working hours are respected. The host is in Boiçucanga, a neighborhood an hour from the center of São Sebastião; I took a municipal bus that cost R$2.40 to get there. I recommend the experience to everyone!

Yara is a person who not only shared her space but also her routine and daily life. From the beginning, everything was very transparent: the times and agreements were always respected, with a great lightness in daily life. I never felt I was fulfilling obligations — but rather collaborating with the house in a natural way. We spent time together on outings, to beaches, barbecues, meetups with friends and good conversations. In addition to all the practical experience, I carry with me something very valuable: the contact with Buddhism, which she kindly introduced me to and which opened up new reflections. Thank you Yara and Onça!

The house is old and in need of a lot of maintenance; it's not accommodation, it's her house. It's just cleaning and tidying up her house. I think Yara should do something like Couchsurfing, because it seems what she needs is company; she is a person with a lot of free time, these are things she could do herself. The situation became uncomfortable and I had to leave. Anyway, thank you for the private room! I will surely continue enjoying your country, your culture, and the GOOD energies in another place! my first bad experience as a volunteer in Brazil :(

She didn't read the listing for a studio and a beach house. Diana's volunteer dedication was mediocre. I always had to finish the work she left unfinished. It seems to me that she doesn't have much awareness of how costly it is to maintain a space and of the value of the lodging I provided in exchange. She would leave the fan on in the room when she left. She broke two brooms during cleaning and only replaced one. It ends up not making up for the money I saved with these services. This isn't Couchsur.
