I wouldn't recommend this volunteer because in 1 month we have to do activities similar as a professional workers, if you don't have building skills and any good organización, you will have a stressful experience. I thought that i had to follow any process with all materials ok , but no, practically in my case i had to planing everything for completing any activity like what kind of materials and tools we had to buy and teach all aspects to my partner because he doesn't know too much about buildings . The host said to us that we would extend the volunteer but it wasn't true

Andoni, I can understand that the experience has been stressful for you and I respect your perception. What I cannot understand is the lack of commitment to the project. You completed one part, but there were pending tasks and the project stopped progressing. The lack of communication and planning made the situation very difficult for me. Additionally, this is independent of the state in which my house and some tools that are broken were left. I even helped you with your personal matters

Sandra was clearly not ready to host volunteers. The house renovation project lacked any type of plan, leaving another volunteer, despite not being a professional builder, to plan, budget and buy materials, taking on the host's role. That didn't stop the host's expectations from changing constantly, even though no technical guidance was provided and there was no one supervising the work. This made my stay unnecessarily stressful. Although AC is offered, Sandra repeatedly asked me to turn it off with 40°C+ outside. Better planning and clearly defined responsibilities would've helped.

Sandra replied

I never forced you to work in 40°C heat. You had total freedom over your schedules and days, as well as my house, just for the two of you, with independence and all the comforts. Air conditioning 24 hours a day. I trusted you to push the project forward, but there were continual excuses and constant absences without notice. You left the house dirty and damaged things and tools. The project was not completed on time or in terms of commitment, and I was disappointed by your lack of honesty.

I felt welcomed by Sandra. The hours are good. Keep in mind that this is a little far from anything to do. You have a bus and the bus ride is maybe 40 minutes and then you can either take the train or another bus. It was very hot and you WILL be sweating. In the room you stay in, there is no air condition nor fan, so it is very hot during the day, even in your room.

Giselle it's summer in Málaga and it's very hot; I warned you about the high temperatures of the summer here. In the house there is air conditioning but not in the bedrooms; you have used the air conditioning every day, you have had a room to yourself, clean and ready for you. You have showered as many times as you wanted and you have run many washing machines; I don't think your rating is fair.

Great experience, Lovely place, and super nice vibes.

Sandra is a great person, she helps you to get settled in as if you were at home, there are some great spaces, and her pets are the light of this world.

Like everything in life, you are exchanging value, so, be helpful!

Highly recommend.
